"Nurse! Nurse! Please...." I ran out of the room. What's going on? Staff rushed into the halls to find one of Ayama's friends panicking.
Chiyo grabbed her shoulders. "What happened?"
She pointed behind her. "She... she... the girl... Ayama..."
My heart sank and I ran with the rest. If Ayama did anything... shit. What if Keiko... Youta will not be pleased either way.
We burst into the room and I saw a half naked Kaida, pumping into Ayama's chest. She glanced up, face calm until her eyes rolled when she saw me. What... she's trying to save her...
Everyone as at a standstill until Ayama coughed and Kaida quickly turned her on her side. She gasped for air and everyone rushed towards them. Kaida went into a private bath and came out with her clothes, stopping another nurse on her way out. She nodded her head into the room. "May wanna check her out too."
I clenched my fists as I put the pieces together. Ayama... why would you... She brushed past me and disappeared down the hall, only a towel covering her. I couldn't help, but watch her walk away and had to shake myself when she slipped into a room. She's beautiful...
Chiyo tapped my arm. "Lady Kaida did well, she saved her life."
I looked into the room, the other girl from the bath clutching her head. "But... she caused it as well."
Chiyo glanced back. "If you poke a tiger... you expect it not to scratch? If she really wanted them dead, they would be."
I sighed. "Still like her better."
She chuckled. "The girl is strong, intelligent, and untamable, but she is not without a heart. These girls meant her harm and she defended herself. Lady Ayama better be glad she didn't just let her drown, her friends clearly had no clue what to do."
I looked to where she disappeared. "True." I went to stand outside the door and leaned against the opposite wall. Why would Ayama start this? She could have died. Hell, Kaida was taking a fucking bath. I hope...
The door opened and I was met with a curious look. "So, what happened?"
She glowered at me. "Maybe... you should ask your girlfriends."
I don't know why that sparked my anger and I stepped forward. I'm not worried about them. "I'm asking you."
She backed up until she hit the wall defiance written on her face. "And I'm telling you-"
I slammed my hand against the wall, seething. Why is she making this so difficult? "Did they hurt you?"
She smirked, clearly not fazed by my rage. "They never had the chance. Now, if you'll excuse me." I wouldn't move as she tried to get past. "You have another question?"
I searched her face as she sounded amused. She almost killed Ayama, but she saved her. Ayama bit off more than she could chew when she went after her, but... "I'm trying to help you... protect you."
She started to blush as she pushed through me. "Well, as you can see. I'm not the one that needs protecting."
I smiled softly. This is true and she didn't say I couldn't... "Clearly."
She looked at me suspiciously as she slowly backed away. "Yeah..."
She turned on her heel to go. She thinks I'm crazy... "Let m-"
She quickly shook her head. "Nope, I'm good."
I gently caught her arm. "Bu-"
She arched a brow. "Really... I'm fine. You should probably go check on them though."
I sighed. "Yeah..."
She hurried down the hall. I'm sure they're fine... I turned and went anyway. Ayama looked to be in shock, drenched from head to toe. "She almost killed me."
I frowned, crossing my arms. "Unprovoked?"
She glared at me. "We hadn't done anything."
I nodded slowly. She always was her own form of trouble. "So... Kaida, who was half naked, just attacked 3 fully dressed girls?"
She averted her gaze. "We... just wanted to talk."
I noted orange and red stains on her clothing. "Mhm... what's that?"
Her eyes widened as I gestured to them. "Uh... nothing?"
I sighed. "Really, Ayama? You really could have died, be glad she saved you because they..." I looked at her friends whispering in the corner. "They wouldn't have and they're supposed to be your friends."
She clenched her fists. "What do you know? You didn't even stay to make sure I was fine. You chased after her like you and Prince Youta always do."
I gaped. She's... jealous? "You were fine, I saw that before I left. And what is that supposed to mean?"
She jumped up and stormed out. "Nothing... just forget it."
I stared after her. She... why would she be jealous? She's to marry the prince, I don't understand. I shook my head. I'll have to speak with him about it. We never meant to make her feel this way.
