As we were headed back, Kaida ensured she kept her distance, if I sped up to try to catch her she did the same to stay away. It was frustrating and I scowled at her back the whole time. How can she tell, she is not even looking.
"RYOMA! YOU'VE RETURNED!" I froze. Please do- Ayama suddenly wrapped herself around me. Shit... please don't... "What were you doing all night?"
I tried to unravel myself, but she was holding firm. Did Youta not tell her?! Kaida was watching us, entertained as I was trying to hold my composure. Finally, I got free and Ayama gaped. "Ryoma... why do you push me away?"
I couldn't face Kaida as I got myself together. It isn't what it looks like, but how do I explain?
I glanced up to see she was ready to fight if anything happened and slowly turned to face Ayama's alpaca, chewing behind her. Her head tilted, a wary look on her face as she took in his appearance. As she began to back away from him, she glanced at me unsure of what to do. She's never seen one before?
I didn't like that she was uncomfortable and went towards her. I didn't anticipate her moving faster as Shika, the alpaca, grunted and she ran into me. Her body against mine felt nice as I gently took hold of her shoulders, inwardly ecstatic that she didn't pull away. "It's an alpaca, they are common in this region."
She turned her face up to me, eyebrows high, this clearly was not her favorite creature. She stepped away from me, which was disappointing and Ayama sprung to action. I quickly grabbed her wrist to stop her from drawing her blade. I glared at the girl, if she messed this up, I would never forgive her. "Amaya, calm down."
She looked hatefully at Kaida and it made my blood boil. What is her problem? "Oh Ryoma, I just want to meet the guest that's been taking up all your time." I moved in front of Kaida to block her, but she just leaned slightly to maintain eye contact. "So do you have a name?"
I tensed as Kaida just walked past me, then her. Ayama ran to get in front of her again. Please don't start this... she will kill you and I have to answer to Youta. "Hey! Wait!"
Kaida's face remained passive. Please don't hurt her... "Move."
I didn't miss the threat in her voice as Ayama stepped closer. "Or what?"
My heart sank as Kaida threw a punch, but it never made contact. Yet, Ayama was on the ground. What just happened, I only blinked, but...
Ayama grabbed her leg as she continued forward. "You're not good enough for Ryoma!"
I clenched my fists. Fuck it... I'm going to kill her. Kaida didn't bother to look at her. "Ryoma? You can have him, I'm not interested."
That struck my heart as she was released at began towards the estate again. "If you ever hurt him again, I will kill you."
Kaida chuckled and threw a smile over her shoulder, entertained as Ayama ungracefully stood. "I would love to see you try."
Ayama turned to me, very close to snapping her neck. "I don't like her."
I flexed my jaw. "What was that, Ayama?"
She shrugged, dropping the lovestruck girl act. "Wanted to see what she would do... seems she's not all that into you."
I glanced at where she disappeared. "That... is none of your concern."
She approached. "She's not the 5 or even 7 year old girl she once was, Ryoma. She has hurt you, multiple times in her short time here. It is all of my concern."
I grabbed her arm. "You know nothing. What are you even doing here?"
She grimaced and I released her, turning away. "I heard she was here, very upset you didn't bother to tell me. So, I came to meet her for myself."
I walked a ways away, I couldn't hurt her. "She has nothing to do with you."
She grabbed my arm and spun me. "She is the long lost cousin of my betrothed. She has a lot to fucking do with me. Especially, if she brings trouble. She is not the princess who runs through trees anymore, she is dangerous."
Clearly, she had already made up her mind, so I brushed past her. "If you make her disappear again Ayama... you will regret it and I don't just mean from me." Youta would want you gone as well...
