— Maeve —

I'm sure we all witnessed, or at least I know I watched the way Amanda's mother fell into worry then desperation and finally panic. It wasn't long before the whole school realized that Amanda was missing.

The school had practically lost its cheer, I guess when she called herself the queen b she wasn't wrong.

With David, Daisy and I sitting at our positions in class, I couldn't help but think of the thought of ' him ' been here ever crossing Daisy's mind.

The news of Amanda's disappearance sparked fear and suspicion in the minds of many with mine been no exception and to think I might have been the last person to have encountered her, or at least her retreating form was downing.

Although, speculations are that she probably ran off with some boy but wasn't that always it?

And then the worst came, right after rumors like that had spread and taken over the panic people somehow managed to hide so well underneath all the rumors they tried to spread.

Life was something else wasn't it?
Even as the administrators voice rang out in the speakers saying that school was dismissed for the day and that we should all stay safe and Daisy dashed out of the class without sparing a glance at David and I but earning a couple of laughs from the rest of the class and a scorn from the teacher.

It had me thinking why she was so on edge, even though all efforts to find out what was going on with her proved futile and it had me thinking even as I walked out of the school,

| To the day of Amanda's disappearance |

I didn't think the earth still moved, even after just as quickly as the smile came, it vanished and so did he.

My scars burned and I nearly fainted. Those eyes...

I have seen before, the way his skin was tanned.

I knew I remembered but I just didn't know.  Jesus christ!

My mind grabbed at straws, anything to remind me why my body froze at the spot and why my face turned paled and sickly and why my stomach felt all sick and my skin crawled.

I was irritated and I knew that I knew him.

It was at my rooted spot that they caught up with me, with the lights that kept up changing colours and the blazing earsplitting music, I was half surprised that both of them saw my face and David gasped.

David was the first to get to me,followed closely by Daisy and when he gasped, Daisy half shouted " what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost"

David couldn't take it anymore, he held my hands and half dragged me to a side door that was carefully hidden by the side of the bar, he opened the door and we all went through.

I could have gasped but I was still shell shocked. In front of me was a spiral staircase, with the most lustrous designs on its rails. It looked like embroidery.

I didn't have time to appreciate the art work when I was spuned to stare at those two who obviously had worried looks.

"What . Is . Going . On?"  I stumbled on the step, using the railing to break my otherwise deadly fall, I sat on the step and hugged my self. This was all too much.

I didn't want to think that after all this while, I miraculously bumped into the very man that gave me those scars and made my life a torrent of misery and mystery.

It's just one of those things you wouldn't mind tagging outrightly unbelievable.

Daisy wasn't buying the silence, I could tell.
