It's been two weeks since I started this school and it's been that long since Eric last tried to approach me or disturb me.

That mahogany skinned girl had been sitting with me all through the two weeks, she'd compliment my shoes or my sweater or even my gauntlets that those girls kept on insulting.

I found it awkward that she said nothing else, and even more awkward that she didn't try to exchange words with me after school.

I didn't have any reason to worry, I mean I was ok with people not talking to me but she was different I guess.

Mum and I have been having little more conversations outside of our day to day pleasantries, magic words or questions about how our days went at the end of the day.

Yesterday we actually went to a flower shop, looking for flowers that would help make our house lively and then we saw a movie 'da 5 bloods' before bed. I started writing in my journal last two weeks and it has been refreshing so far.

Today we were having literature and the teacher, Mr Manson... What a weird name. Kept on talking about Shakespeare and the use of literary devices as well as poetry and famous poets. I found my self listening intently at everything he said, that was before he gave us a project to do.

A group work on a poem or short story but also doing one on our own individually, he was talking about how having others contribute to something was fun.. I almost rolled my eyes at the statement.

But seriously what was it about this school and assignments!. He went further to pair us and I cringed when I heard him call my name and Eric's but shocked when he added the girl who always complimented my clothes. I later learnt her name was Daisy.

"Erm, Mr Manson. sir!, I can't do this group work thingy with them.Reassign me to another pair. "

I'd know that irritating accent anywhere, Eric had caused the lesson to pause and everyone including me was staring at him.

"Eric, my decision has been made. But why don't you want to work with them? "

" Are you kidding me!?, Have you seen those two?. Weird and weirder too. I can't be seen with those two especially the new one, I'm the quarter back of the school's team!. You can't do this!. "

Eric was red now along his cheeks. I actually found it funny that he could get angry, while some students were staring at the commotion he was stirring, others were giving me snickering gazes.

"Eric, you of all people know that I don't do reassignments, you'll have to do the assignment with them. " He said it in a tone that said, you're on your own boy!.

And with that the bell rang for cafeteria time. Who knew he was the quarter back of the school's team and who cares too?, So that's what he meant by he'd end me. What a dickhead. I was ready to bet on his annoying accent and stupid hair that those girls were part of his crew, maybe his admirers or his girlfriends based on the fact that they gawk over him. Gross.

In the cafeteria, I sat on my lone table with my lunch, eating and waiting for Daisy to sit with me. I was prepared to talk to her when she arrived to sit and eat with me.

"Hey. I like your sweater and your shoes." Well that made it two things she complimented me on today...

" I like your erm dress too". I could tell she wasn't expecting my response with the way she paused the food from reaching her mouth to look at me, I continued...

" Look, I'm not cut out for group work or talking with people. I like my personal space and I don't like stress or talking to people. So I'd appreciate it if you asked to be reassigned too. "
