"Your Highness....." she called in a low voice.
Those eyes of his were in a daze as he walked along the room with uneasy steps towards her. "I.....I want to know something," he sounded hoarse and almost devastated, as though he lost something dear to him.
Lian Yu could smell the liquor he had been drinking. "Yes?" she was patient.
Reaching her, his hand rested on the border of her bed frame to keep himself standing. "I want to know more about her, about Lian Song." Xin Hua spoke.
The Crown Princess still felt saddened at the mention of her name but kept it to herself. "Of course, what would you like to know?" he was like a child this very moment he stood before her.
Xin Hua rubbed his tired eyes, "Who was she before entering the palace?" he asked.
She gave a frowned smile just thinking about it. "Song was a very upright lady that many men sought after. Her manners and beauty were like none other, a jewel among the flowers." that's how she always saw her sister. Someone beautiful with the most gentle and serene manners. She was also kind, the kindest sister she ever had and her only sister.
Now, she didn't have her.
Suddenly, the Crown Prince fell to the floor with a groan that followed. Quickly did she come to his side, helping him to his feet. "Your Highness, are you alright?!" she was worried.
"Don't touch me!" he pushed her away.
Her brows furrowed as eyes lowered, "Your Highness, I just want to help you." her hands came to rest on her lap as she sat on the floor with him.
A sniffle, then tears as they filled his vision. This shocked Lian Yu as it was a surprise to see him in such a state. "Everyone leaves sooner or later," he only voiced the truth. Those who crossed paths with him are always bound to leave.
At those words, the young woman was overcome with sorrow. She never would have thought that a fear or worry like this haunted him. Although hesitant, her hands held his as lips parted to speak. "Then, I'll stay." she told him.
More tears flooded his vision, "Get away from me!" he cried.
Going against his demand, she stood and pulled him to his feet. She just couldn't leave him alone. "Your Highness," her grip on his hands tightened. "I know that when you awaken from his drunken state, you won't remember but I promise that I won't leave." an oath to him.
The expression on the young man's face became distraught as he then rested his head on her shoulder like a child. "I don't want to be alone again." his voice filled with woe.
In his chambers, Crown Princess Lian Yu laid him on his bed to sleep. Positioning him to lay on his side, she pulled the blanket over him. It's not good to have a drunk person on their back as they slept.
A deep breath, she looked at him for a short moment before turning away and leaving to the doors. Once she reached them, her gaze came to him yet again. She wanted to help him even if she knew she didn't have what it takes.
"Even if you don't accept me, I'll stay so you won't be alone."
