[Volume 1] Chapter 24 - Why...?

"Hey, Yaketsuku!" Shouted a certain raven-headed individual with a sword, who was walking towards him alone.

"How's it going Ren, do you need something?" Said Yaketsuku, not looking up from his current duty, which was making a toy for Hikari. Yaketsuku had picked up on a new skill, crafting, which can evolve into jewellery crafting. 

"Itsuki and I reckon the church is up to something, and we would like you to come with us to investigate." Ren said as he bowed a bit, acknowledging Yaketsuku's power. 

"Jeez, we're friends, right? No need for formalities, anyway, you picked up on their fishiness too slowly. And to answer your question, of course I'll go!" Replied Yaketsuku cheerfully as he finished off the toy, and handed it to Hikari, who immediately rushed off to join Sakura. 

"It'll just be us three though, we don't want our party members to get hurt, is that alright?" Said Ren, relief flooding him. 

"Sure, but let me sort a couple things out first, because I want to ensure that my party members will be safe." Said Yaketsuku, standing up slowly.

"Alright, well, see you in front of the church tomorrow morning!" Said Ren as he headed off to wherever he was heading. Yaketsuku smiled. He headed back towards Sakura and Hikari who were playing in the fields.

"Hey, so, what's this investigation about?" Asked Yaketsuku as he stood in front of the church with the other 2 heroes. "Also, you guys didn't ask Naofumi if he wanted to come or not?"

"No..." Started Itsuki, and as soon as he saw Yaketsuku's expression, and felt his aura flare up, he hastily added: "It's not because we didn't ask him, we did, he just denied our invitation!"

"Oh, alright..." Said Yaketsuku slowly, still suspicious, but Ren and Itsuki could feel his aura fade, allowing them to relax.

"Ah, so this is the place? it doesn't look like much..." Said Yaketsuku as he, Ren and Itsuki materialised in front of a old looking library in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly, a tendril made of pure darkness lunged out, grabbed Ren, and pulled him into the darkness of the library. "AHHHHHHH-"

"REN!!" Shouted Yaketsuku and Itsuki. They immediately unswung their respective weapons and charged in. They ran onwards for what seemed like forever, and eventually reached an altar. Ren was nowhere in sight. 

"Where is he?" Asked Yaketsuku urgently.

"I don't know!" Replied Itsuki, as he gripped his bow tightly, afraid for the worst. There was a light creaking sound, making Yaketsuku and Itsuki both turn in the direction of the noise, as another tendril emerged from the darkness, pausing right in front of the two heroes. 

"Thunder shot!" Yaketsuku heard Itsuki shout, as his bow charged up, letting out a destructive bolt of charged lightning at the tendril. Smoke filled their vision. When the smoke cleared, Yaketsuku heard a terrible scream. The tendril had impaled Itsuki's stomach, coming out the other side. 

Blood splattered out of Itsuki's mouth.

Yaketsuku looked on with wide eyes as his friend fell to the ground, dropping his bow.

"No... Itsuki, get up..." Muttered Yaketsuku, as tears emerged from the corners of his eyes. 

"Why..."

"What happened?"

"Itsuki, why aren't you responding to me?"

"Itsuki!"

"Wake up!"

"You're just asleep, right?"

Yaketsuku fell to the ground, weeping, staring at Itsuki's body, his golden irises, and his shattered armour.

"Itsuki, we're friends, right?"

"So respond to me!"

"Wake UP!"

"ITSUKI!"

"ITSUKI!"

"̵̜̝̘̓̈̂̚Ì̷̡͍̺̣͒T̵͇͙̆̈S̸̹͚̞̼̉Ư̸̢̳̖̆̽̉K̸̳̬͊̀̽͝Ĩ̵̖̺̞͔̉̕!̷̭̝͂̿"̴̩̟͂͒͊̚

Yaketsuku was thrust into darkness. 

Curse Series unlocked.

Yaketsuku stood up, his armour starting to change, black shades plaguing his once shiny, silver armour.

"̷̫͍̖̜͊̒̒Ẁ̸̼̜͑̂̃ḧ̶̦͎̠̩́͊̀̚ý̶̯̯̣̮̌̑.̴̳͕̘̻̀͑͗.̸̛̬͂͘.̸̧͓̮͝"̸̳͓͎͗

Yaketsuku's eyes lit up, a terrible onyx.

"̴̧̛͙͍Ẅ̴̠̙́ͅH̴̢͍̻̊Ȳ̶̧͔͗̃̈?̵̩́̕͘͝?̶̮͕͆̅̈́̓"̵̳̎̿

Yaketsuku's hammer changed to a hammer with blades at either end.

"̶̖̉̅͊Ŵ̴̠̐̓͝h̶̥͍͔͠ǒ̶̡̼̮̎̓ ̶̻̬̩̳̉d̶̨̡͍̈́̋ị̶̗̙̒d̸͇̤̺̥̃ ̸̢̬̺̜͌̾̈́̍i̸̺͕̱̺̋͋͆t̵͉̃?̷̘̲̻̣̋"̵̮̎̌̈

"̴̮̺͙̞́̑Ī̵̹'̶̢̹͑̌̄̄L̵̖̅̕L̴͖̜̗̆ ̵̘̼̿K̷̟̈͂̈́͠Ị̵̈̀͠L̸̜̘̭̔̊̚Ļ̴̲͙͚̂̾̈́̓ ̸̬̹̊Y̵̤͝O̴͙̱̹͕͑͌̏̀U̶̝̼̗͂!̸̯̈́̕"̴͕͚̗͌͋

Yaketsuku took a step forward wobbily. 

"I have wanted to meet you for a very long time, Hammer Hero." A ominous voice echoed out of the darkness. 

Yaketsuku stopped.

He swung his hammer, lighting everything in a black fire that avoided Itsuki's body. 

"Is that all you got? I can't believe that one of the Holy Heroes are this weak."

Yaketsuku swung his hammer again, this time encasing everything in onyx ice.

"Nice trick, but it won't work on me."

Yaketsuku looked up, and roared.

He roared towards the heavens.

He roared with all his might.

Yaketsuku's hammer duplicated, another appearing in his left hand. 

Yaketsuku continued roaring.

He raged at the heavens.

A black lightning shot down, completely vaporising the ceiling, and engulfed Yaketsuku. 

"̶̝́̿͆D̶̮̻͈̝̅̆I̷͔͎̦̠̊͂͑̕Ė̴̼̒!̸̻̦̬̕!̸̧͇̥̻̾̈́̎̽"̶͍͕͎̌̒̚

Yaketsuku swung both his hammers in a cross fashion, casting away the shadows. revealing a near dead Ren in the corner, and Itsuki's assassinator.

"̸̪̳̈́͆W̷̢̛̳̤̖͗̓á̴̞̬̬͛̇́i̴͍̻̞͒̏͗̕ẗ̸̙̇̈̕.̸̺͋̅.̸̨͕̟̚.̶̲̼̄̒̊̎"̶͍̅

"Yes, it's me. Think you can beat me?"

Ahhhh I have nothing to say, this chapter was epic! I really have nothing to say except... Sorry for the cliffhanger! Eheheh... Sorry for the slow upload times, I lost my touch for a bit, and my school started. So things will be rocky from now onwards! Besides that, hope you guys enjoyed, and Peace Out!
