The boy rubbed his throat before turning his attention back to the screen floating in the space in front of the boy.
He looked towards the upper-right corner of the screen and found a small box on the screen labeled with an "X."

He sluggishly moved his hand over to the top of the screen and pressed his finger against the screen. It was odd, by all means, it looked as if his finger would phase through the screen, but his finger pushed against it as if it was solid. The screen didn't have a particular feeling, no temperature, no texture, but it was definitely interactable.
The boy was expecting another screen to pop into existence once the first screen closed, but nothing happened.

The boy explored the thought that he just hallucinated everything and the hallucinations were probably related to how he got in the hospital, but he decided to see if he could do something to figure out if all of this was a hallucination.
He recalled that the screen spoke of stats, which the boy took to mean numbered physical capabilities. So... stats... like in games.
The boy wondered how he would communicate to the... thing that controlled these screens. Was it himself? Was it some sort of unknown presence that stuck with him?

"S..." He tried speaking, but he stuttered and let out a cough. He took a deep breath before attempting once again. "Stats... page..?" He questioned the very situation he was in.

After the boy coughed once again, his eyes widened at the sight of the new screen that he had summoned. He observed the entirety of the screen, making sure to pay attention to every detail placed upon the hologram.
It appeared that his assumption was correct. His physical capabilities had a value, and the value was shown on this hologram. His eyes lingered on his presumably low Vitality before he closed the window.
As soon as he closed the screen, another one popped up.

Three seconds passed before the screen closed by itself, and as soon as the screen closed, several machines that used to be hooked up to the boy began emitting loud beeps that startled him. He clapped his hands over his ears, accidentally stunning him for a moment, before he regained his bearings and noticed the lights in his room turning on.
The boy looked around until he located the entryway to his hospital room, he watched as a nurse walked swiftly into the room.
The nurse had relatively short black hair that had been draped over her left shoulder. The nurse was dressed in typical nurse fashion. The woman spoke to the boy, but it took a few moments before the boy fully registered what was said.

"It's good to see you up, Suzuki-kun. But please use the button located on your left, next time." The woman spoke. The boy narrowed his eyes briefly before he realized just what language the woman was speaking.

The boy had completely forgotten that he was in Japan now. The boy was Canadian himself, if he recalled correctly, he and his family had just recently moved to Japan. He couldn't remember any specifics at the current moment, but that was likely because he had just recovered from... something.

The nurse managed to stop the irritating beeping that was being emitted from the various machines hooked up to the boy.
He had opened his mouth to speak, but a raspy noise coming from his throat had been cut off by a sudden coughing fit.

"Please don't try to speak, Suzuki-kun. You have experienced major trauma to your throat, you're lucky you can even breathe right now." She stated in a slightly commanding tone. The boy simply nodded in response.
