Yeona was beaming as she ran towards the sand, bathing in the sun. It seemed like she had completely let go of whatever image she had on instagram, letting herself be happy for the day.

Haechan was glad that there wasn't many people at the beach, allowing Yeona and him to have their privacy. It was still early in the day, but with it being in the middle of the school year, not many people would be willing to spend a day out instead of studying.

It was mostly parents with their children and Haechan couldn't help but feel a twisting feeling as he stared at the families around him, feeling stripped of his own childhood happiness. It didn't last long though as he felt an arm wrap around his and turned to see Yeona, a small smile on her face.

"We should set up the blanket and umbrella." Yeona said, gently tugging him. Haechan nodded, following Yeona as they found an empty spot in the sand.

"So why do you like the beach so much?" Haechan asked as Yeona pulled the blanket from her bag, unfolding it and giving Haechan a side.

"Never got to come here as a kid." Yeona told him. "You?"

"Pretty much the same." Haechan said as they placed the blanket down. "There's also another reason."

"What is it?" Yeona asked as Haechan unfolded the beach umbrella he had brought, shoving it into the sand. The two of them quickly settled under it, enjoying the cool shade.

"The beach is a place where the sun shines brightly and the sun is a sign of happiness." Haechan told her, a small chuckle escaping his lips. "It's kind of stupid, but I wanted to shine brightly and be full of happiness too. That's why I changed my name from Donghyuck to Haechan when I went to college."

To his surprise, Yeona didn't laugh or make fun of that. "I think that's really nice. Haechan suits you well."

"You really think so?" Haechan asked. Yeona nodded her head.

Haechan stared at the girl who was shyly smiling, looking into sea as her cheeks began to flush. Haechan couldn't help but feel the same way, slowly slipping her phone from his pocket and poking her with it.

"What?" Yeona asked, turning to face him. She was surprised to see her phone in his hands.

"Take a picture." Haechan told her. "You look happy."

It was Haechan's turn to be surprised as her smile grew, kindly rejecting the device as she pushed it back to him.

"You take it for me." Yeona said, grinning as she posed for him.

Yeona admit, she was loving every moment at the beach with Haechan, her phone buried in the bottom of her bag unless they were taking pictures. Haechan was a funny guy with clever humour, keeping her entertained the entire time.
