Yeona bit her lip as she flipped through her closet, trying to pick something out for dinner with Haechan's parents.

Lunch was definitely weird, especially with her parents genuinely being curious about her life. It seemed as if they had flipped to a new chapter, actually trying to be supportive parents that were active in her daughter's life.

She could tell her boyfriend was slightly weirded out by it all but still engaged in conversation, making it easier for Yeona.

"At least they're trying." Yeona mumbled just as she heard her phone buzz from her desk. She left her closet, shocked by the messages she had recieved.

"Oh my gosh!" Yeona exclaimed and as if on cue, the door opened, her mother's head poking in

"Oh my gosh!" Yeona exclaimed and as if on cue, the door opened, her mother's head poking in.

"Are you busy?" Her mother asked. Yeona shook her head and the woman walked in, phone in hand.

"BNT called and were looking for you." The mother informed her daughter.

"I know, they just messaged." Yeona said, waving her phone. That's when she realized something was off. "Are you... smiling?"

Yeona's mother giggled before nodding her head, making her way to where Yeona was.

"Yes, I am. You've grown up so well even though we weren't always there for you. Also, Haechan seems to be getting along very well with your father, which is a big relief for both of us."

"He is?" Yeona said, raising an eyebrow in surprise. Her mother shook her head.

"I don't know, it's some weird men humour, I don't understand it either." Her mother said, making Yeona chuckle as they made their way to the closet. "But I'm guessing that the reason why you're still here is because you're finding something for tonight."

"It is." Yeona admitted as she let her mother flip through her closet. "I just want to make a good impression."

"Haechan has nice parents." Her mother told her as she flipped through the numerous dresses. "Both kind people. It's a shame that Haechan didn't get to experience it."

Yeona watched as her mother pulled out a white dress, passing it to her.

"Simple, elegant, and matches the suit jacket your father is lending Haechan for the night."

Yeona couldn't help but smile as Haechan adjusted his suit jacket, fiddling with the buttons with shaky hands.

"You're nervous." Yeona said, placing a hand over his, stopping Haechan from fidgeting.

"Well yeah, I don't remember the last time I saw my parents in real life." Haechan replied, giving her a look.

Yeona gave him a light smile, reaching up to fix Haechan's hair. "There's nothing to worry about. My parents like you and they're pretty hard to impress so I'm sure your parents will do the same."

"I don't know, if they have any idea how my grades are going, I'm sure they wouldn't be too impressed." Haechan mumbled under his breath.

Before Yeona could say anything else, she caught sight of the man and woman approaching them, kind smiles on their faces.

Yeona gently shook Haechan's arm but her boyfriend only shot her a look. "What?"

"Donghyuck?" Haechan's mother said, making her son freeze in shock, his back still facing his parents. "Is that you?"

Yeona gave his hand a reassuring squeeze, bringing Haechan back to reality as he took a deep breath, blinking back the tears before turning around.

"Eomma? Appa?" Haechan said quietly, still in disbelief.

While Haechan's father stood there, grinning at the sight of his son all grown up, Haechan's mother immediately ran towards them, engulfing Haechan in a deep hug.

"Lee Donghyuck, oh how much I've missed having my lovely son around."
