Nearly one month passed since, what everyone dubbed as, the Second Sanguine War. The total annihilation of the Moissanite royalties had forced the tribe to crumble into anarchy. Since the Moissanite tribe was the largest organized Barbarian settlement, there were no Barbarian attacks in the weeks following the Second Sanguine War. And although the Barbarian threat was not completely gone, Carat Kingdom became generally peaceful in the days that followed.
On the other hand, Joshua finally began his training for his Shielding ability. Seokjin, Kyungsoo and Park Jihoon were his trainers and thus, Joshua and Jeonghan were being trained together, much to their delight. Joshua was also getting Healing tips from Yixing and Daehwi. Seungcheol was also getting lessons on how to control his teleportation, which according to the Power Codex was technically called Orbing. Hoseok and Jongin were helping him in his accuracy and control. Furthermore, Kuanlin was teaching him how to teleport people without physical contact or teleporting himself, and also educating him on how to use his teleportation power for offensive purposes.
On this particular slightly cloudy night, the King invited everyone – the Princes and their Consorts, the soulmates' family, the Royal Defense Force, the Mystics and the Dreamies - to a royal dinner at the palace. At this point, the Dreamies were assigned by the Royal Defense Force as the thirteen's personal guards as part of their on-the-job training. While in the middle of the meal, the King announced something he deemed was of utmost importance.
"May I have everyone's attention please?" the King was gently hitting the fork repeatedly onto the glass goblet. Everyone turned their attention to the King.
"Everyone, especially the parents, may wonder what is the special occasion as to why I organized this lavish dinner," Sungsoo started. "I would like to announce that in one week, a Royal Hymeneal will be held in order to officially unite all of the Princes to their soulmates in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law."
"WHAT?" eleven of the thirteen exclaimed; their eyes as wide as the full moon. As for Joshua and Minghao, they had no idea what the King was talking about.
"Like I said, seven days from now, all of you will be officially together," the King repeated.
"But why in one week?" Seungcheol questioned.
"Why not?" the King dismissed. "I don't see the other parents complaining."
"I'm fine with it," Jeonghan's father agreed.
"The sooner, the better I guess?" Joshua's mother nodded.
"What a wonderful idea," Jihoon's parents clasped their hands in delight.
"It's about time, isn't it?" Mingyu's parents commented.
"We have no issues with that," Minghao's parents declared.
"I think it's for the best," Chan's father expressed his opinion.
"See? All the parents have no objections whatsoever," the King chuckled.
"Uhm... can we ask something?" Minghao and Joshua raised their hands.
"What is it, Joshua and Minghao?" the King acknowledged.
"What is this 'Royal Hymeneal'?" Joshua asked in Minghao's behalf.
"Hymeneal is the ceremony for soulmates to be together officially and legally," the King explained; the definition only confused the two a bit.
"In simplest terms, it means we are walking down the aisle and tying the knot. I guess you both know what those mean from our Literature lessons, right?" Jun clarified.
