you saved me; buck and eddie

9 ~ you are in love

"pauses and says 'you're my best friend'. and you knew what it was he is in love."

as their shift was coming to an end, buck walked out to the garage, looking for chimney.

"hey chimney. can i talk to you?"

"sure, buck. what's up?"

"so bobby came to me today and said that he doesn't think this tension between me and eddie is competitive. what do you think that means?"

chimney laughed. "i'm not answering that, buck."

buck got defensive. "what? why?" he practically shouted.

chimney smirked and walked away. buck knew not to follow him, so he turned around and went to his car.

did everyone know about something he didn't?

christopher wrapped eddie in a big hug when he got home that night. eddie was so happy to be home with his little boy, he missed christopher every second of every day while he was at work.

"what do you wanna do today, christopher?" eddie asked his son.

christopher's eyes lit up, "can we hang out with buck?"

eddie froze, and looked at christopher puzzled. "you really love hanging out with buck, don't you kid?"

christopher nodded his head excitedly. "yeah! i mean, i love buck. and you love buck. and buck loves us."

eddie chuckled at his son's explanation. "you're right kid, i do love buck." he whispered, walking over to his phone.

"hey." buck said when he picked up the phone.

"hey, christopher wants you to come over, you got time?"

"will there be beer?"

"yes."

"i'll be there in twenty."

eddie laughed as he set down the phone. he realized his cheeks were flushed but he ignored it.

buck arrived shortly after, picking up christopher and engulfing him in a bear hug.

"are you good, man? you've been acting weird ever since bobby called you into his office."

buck wasn't sure what to say, eddie got scared.

"you're not getting fired are you?" he asked, not wanting his best friend to leave the firehouse.

he wasn't sure what he would do if he didn't get to see buck every day.

"no, no i'm not getting fired." buck reassured him, making eddie release his breath. he was glad buck wasn't loosing his job, but he was still confused as to why bobby talked to him and why buck was being so weird.

"what was the secret meeting about?" eddie asked, knowing buck probably wasn't gonna answer.

"uh, it was about athena. hey, christopher! think you can beat me in a video game?" buck said, quickly trying to change the subject.

eddie looked at him confused, but didn't ask him to elaborate. instead, he sat down on the couch next to his son.

buck left a few hours later. buck had definitely been acting weird the entire time, but he didn't want to say anything. he let buck be weird and ignored it. his plan was to ask bobby during the next shift. he wasn't exactly sure that bobby would tell him, but he was gonna try.
