you saved me; buck and eddie

6 ~ lost without you.

"i never thought how much i needed you, i think i'm lost without you."

buck started to move himself toward the window. he had the unconscious kid on his side. he was moving slower than anything. he heard the alarm on his helmet go off, it had been going off for a while now.

he was out of air.

his skin burned as the flames spread his body quickly. the kid felt heavy in his arms. he could see the window. he could see the light.

just a few more steps.

then he could be home. he could be in fresh air. home with his friends and his sister, and eddie and chris.

just a few more steps.

and then, he fell.

"buck! can you hear me! evacuate now!" bobby yelled into the radio.

he heard a crash over the radio, then a scream.

"it's buck! he's down! we have to go in there!" eddie shouted.

bobby nodded. "i'll go."

"what? no i'll go." eddie cried.

"eddie, you are not in the right mindset to go in there. i will go, i will be back soon."

the team nodded. bobby got ready to go into the building. chimney brought the truck over, lifting up the ladder.

before bobby stepped onto the ladder, eddie came up to him whispered, "bring him back to me, bobby. do it."

buck felt pain all over his body. he couldn't breath. he was suffocating. he held onto the kids hand, the kids pulse was shallow, but it was there.

"buck! can you hear me!" bobby called though the smoke.

"bobby." buck whispered. he heard the footsteps get closer to him. "bobby." he said louder.

"buck!"

"bobby."

"buck!"

"bobby."

eddies heart pounded in his chest. he watched the window. minutes felt like hours. all of a sudden, three bodies came out of the window.

bobby, buck, and the little boy.

the team clapped. eddie ran over to the ladder truck, and pulled buck into his arms. buck tried to let go but eddie wouldn't let him, he held onto him. he wanted to hold on forever and never let go. buck was okay. and he never wanted him to get hurt again.

eddie and chimney walked into the hospital. eddie hadn't been able to focus the rest of shift, he just wanted to leave and see buck.

"eddie." buck whispered from his hospital bed and eddie entered the room. chimney walked out, and gave the two boys some space.

"hey buck, how are you feeling?"

"like a million bucks."

eddie smiled. "the attitudes already back."

buck laughed.

"i was really worried about you." eddie said, walking closer to the gurney. "i don't know what i would've gone if anything bad had happened to you."

"eddie," buck started, putting a hand on eddies forearm. "i'm okay. you don't need to worry."

a tear slipped down eddies cheek. he let his head fall onto bucks chest.

"eddie." buck said, entangling his hands in his best friends hair. "i'm okay. you don't need to freak out."

eddie got up and sat down in the chair next to the bed. "i thought i lost you. and i was so afraid. you scared the hell out of me."

"you really think i can go that easily? you aren't getting rid of me yet, diaz."

"thank god." eddie whispered.

buck sat up in his bed and stared into eddies eyes, unknowingly to buck, his head moved closer to eddies.

eddie leaned in on the other side, he stared at bucks lips. the two felt happy. everything felt right.

"guys." bobby yelled, interrupting the moment.

the two separated quickly, catching their breaths.

"mind if i talk to buck?" bobby asked.

eddie frowned, he nodded and walked over to the door. he turned around and met eyes with buck, and left.
