Dream stayed awake in bed that Wednesday night. He was trying to figure out how to ask George to hang out. It didnt make sense to him why he couldnt do it easily, the thought of downright asking him made his stomach curdle. It felt wrong. He and Sapnap hung out all the time – why was this one any different?

He decided on a note, that would be easiest and the sooner he did it, the later he would have to face George after. As the moon shone through the window behind him, Dream drafted his note.

Hey George,

I wanted to ask yesterday but I got uncomfortable asking in person. Would you want to hangout sometime? I know a cool spot I'd love for you to see it!

From Dream

Well, thats definitely not it. Dream muttered to himself, scrunching up the paper and tossing it.

After three more arduous attempts, he had an end result which matched what he wanted.

Hi George,

I wanted to ask in English, but I totally forgot. Thought a note would be easier. Would you want to hangout sometime in the next week?

Let me know.

-Dream

He closed his eyes, turning over to sleep, the note tucked under the glass on his bedside table. Unfortunately, Dream found himself tossing and turning. How would he deliver the note? When would he do it?

After more lengthy minutes of restless laying, he picked up the note and crept out of the dorm room, making sure to not wake up his roommate as the door creaked open. He then walked nimbly through the hall, checking each door for George's name. After many negative results, he finally came upon a room right at the end of the hall with the name he desired written on. To his surprise, there was no other name on there, did George stay alone? Shaking the thought from his head, he crouched down to slip the note under the doorway. He swiftly made his way back down the hallway and into his room, sliding into bed as if nothing happened.

George awoke the next day like normal. As much as he hated his training from home, he did like that his body clock woke him at the correct time every morning, which made waking up a much nicer process.

He did all his normal morning routine, but as he was pulling on his blazer, the floor under his shoe felt different. He moved his foot and looked down to see a folded sheet of mildly crumpled paper. Curious, he picked it up and unfolded it only to see a handwriting he instantly could recognise. Dream's. He smiled as he read it.

He liked the note idea, so before leaving his solitary dorm, he sat at his desk, clearing a little space. Due to a lack of spare paper, he wrote on the back of the one Dream had delivered.

Hello back, Dream,

I'd like to hangout, meet me outside my dorm at 11:00am on Saturday? We can discuss and hangout then if you'd like.

-George

As he walked down the hall of names and dorms, he found Dream's. He hesitated before pushing the note under the door, Dream had a roommate, what if they opened it. Before he could make a decision, the door opened in front of him. He was faced with an unfamiliar boy, but he had read the name on the door.

"Oh, uh hello!" He said, trying to be friendly.

"Who are you? Why are you outside of my dorm?"

"I'm George, I just wanted to give this to Dream." He almost mumbled, nervous in the presence of this Sapnap.

"Oh. Dream has mentioned you, I'm sure you read it but I'm Sapnap. Dream's already left for his lessons, but I can pass that on?" Sapnap said, offering a hand in the direction of the note.

"If it's not a bother." George nudged the note into Sapnap's hand, who nodded and left.

As his back turned the corner, George let out a sigh. Maybe it was of relief, maybe it was because of nerves, but either way, the task was finished.

The day went on like any other for Dream. That was, until he returned to his dorm to find a smirking Sapnap.

"Cute note." He held up a familiar piece of paper between two fingers.

"Where did you get that?" Dream asked, taking it from the hand Sapnap offered.

"Your friend gave it to me, said it was for you."

Dream read the back, the corners of his mouth tugged upwards, forming a contented smile.

This smile kept in his heart throughout the day, along with the next few days. He wasn't exactly sure why, but having a true friend was all he had ever needed.

Saturday came and Dream headed down the hall at 11:00 promptly, knocking three times on George's door.

"Oh, Dream, hey!" He said after opening his door, looking back at the clock behind him. "And you're punctual I see."

"Always." He grinned. "I was thinking we could hangout today? It's the perfect day."

"I want to assume you're not just saying that because of the sunny weather and the fact today is the only day it hasn't snowed, you have an idea?"

"I do! There's this place nearby, the docks. It's quite a nice place for a walk and I really like the boats." Dream admitted with a smile and a laugh.

"Sounds good to me. When do you want to walk up?"

"Two o' clock sharp." Dream winked, turning to leave.

George smiled to himself. That exit reminded him of the last time Dream left the room with his snarky comment about being a good villain.
