Lissy- I looked at the time. It has to be like 20 minutes since he told he will let me know.

2:35pm

Lissy- Only five minutes?? Why does time seem like to go by slow when your waiting for something? My phone buzzed so I picked it up and it was the group chat. I bet you that everyone got the okay from their parents already.

Sarah- "What did everyone parents say? Mine said yes"

Megan- "Same here"

Taylor- "I got the okay"

Abigail- "My parents said yes"

Lissy- "I'm waiting for my Dad to answer me. Sorry"

Taylor- "No problem"

Megan- "Just let us know when you know"

Lissy- "Ok"

End of group texts..

Lissy- It has definitely been like 10 minutes right?

Lissy- Seriously!! It's only been two minutes! Uggghhhh..."Dad" I said laying on the couch

Dad- (on the phone)

Lissy "Dad" Why isn't he answering me

Dad- (phone call "Hold on") "Lissy, I am on the phone. Give me a sec," I said, looking over at her

Lissy "Daaad," I said.

Dad- (on the phone)

Lissy- "Daadddyyy"

Dad- (phone call "sorry again, but can I call you back"?) few seconds ("thank you")

Lissy- I gulped when he ended his call. He didn't look happy.

Dad- I set my phone down on the desk and stood up. I walked around the desk and to where she was sitting.
"Seriously Allyssa"?

Lissy- " What"?

Dad- "Dont give me that Allyssa. You knew I was on the phone"

Lissy- "No I didn't"

Dad- "I told you to give me sec because I was the phone. Don't try to lie to me saying that you didn't know when I told you"

Lissy- (no response)

Dad- "You are to never do what you did when I'm on the phone. Only when it's something important"

Lissy- "But my question is really important"

Dad- "Is it really important where I had to end my call"?

Lissy- "Yes"

Dad- "What is it"?

Lissy- " Can I go to the sleepover"?

Dad- I took a deep breath in. "There better be more to that question Allyssa than what you just told me"

Lissy- I shook my head no

Dad- "So you interrupted my call for to ask me if you could go to the sleepover? You call that important"?

Lissy- I shrugged my shoulders

Dad- "I'm not going to give you an answer Allyssa"

Lissy- "Why not"!

Dad- "Because I need to call the person I was talking to back"

Lissy- "But why can't I know now"?

Dad- " Allyssa I advise you not to ask me that question while we are still here"

Lissy- "But..."

Dad- "I mean it Allyssa"

Lissy- "Fine" I said rolling my eyes and crossing my arms in frustration. A few seconds later I felt a sting to my bottom. I looked at my Dad.

Dad- "I warned you multiple times not to roll your eyes especially at me Allyssa"

Lissy- "sorry" I mumbled

Dad- "I'll let you know before Friday if you can go or not"

Lissy- "Fine" I said then sitting back down on the couch

Dad- I went back to my desk and called back the person I was talking to. Come by Friday night I let Lissy go to her sleepover and thankfully she didn't do anything wrong.
