Soph:

An image of a lopsided pale Wanderling flooded Sophie's mind. It's ice blue leaves match Keefe's intense gorgeous eyes. It's crookedness matched his adorable lopsided grin perfectly. The pale bark matched his skin. The leaves perfectly matched the color of The Hair™.

"He's dead. You need to move on. Live without him. He's gone and never coming back. You're the one who got involved, Sophie. You killed Keefe," a voice from behind her said. Before she could see who it was, she jolted awake, scaring Keefe in the process. "Wha- GAH! Fost- Sophie? Are you okay? Agh, my chest!" Keefe exclaimed as he shot up next to her. "Oh, I'm sorry," she sniffled, "I- I had a nightmare." Sophie had thick wet tears streaming down her face steadily. Keefe was okay, and that was all that mattered. He wasn't really gone. She'd never lose him like that. "Hey, hey, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad... It's okay, I promise. I'm right here Sophie. Always," Keefe soothed. It had to be about two in the morning, so they clutched each other tightly, Sophie buried her face into his chest while he gripped her small waist, and they fell asleep in each others' arms.

Keefe:

Keefe woke up hours later, around eight, wrapped into Foster's small body. He decided to brush her hair out of her face and lean down further so he could whisper in her ear, "Foster~ It's time to wake up." "Mm, do we have to?", Sophie asked tiredly. "Yes, we do. I have to make my beautiful girlfriend some breakfast for our anniversary, and I can't exactly do that while we're cuddling, now can I?", Keefe chuckled as Sophie shot up. "Breakfast? Anniversary? Dang it, I had a time-table!", Sophie swore under her breath and shot out of bed. "Nope," Keefe puller her back to him, "Miss F is gonna wait in bed. I mean it Sophie, let me take care of you today, or at least, let me make you some breakfast, I'll be back and if I catch you out of bed, I'll be all sad and pouty, and we can't have that today, can we?". Sophie reluctantly nodded, so he got up to go make Foster some breakfast. He grabbed his Imparter, which had been tweaked by Dex to be able to call Amy. "Ames, my favorite Lil Foster!", Keefe exclaimed as Amy's tired face came into view. "Keefe, this had better be important, I'm tired." The Foster sisters may not be biologically related, but they sure as heck had a lot in common and neither of the girls were morning people. "Yeah, I wanted to make Sophie breakfast fo- WHO'S ARM IS THAT?", Keefe shouted, seeing the arm wrapped around Amy's waist. "You are so lucky Lily sleeps like a brick!", Amy hissed. "LILY?!?", Keefe shouted again, getting many responses from the rest of his friends, mostly including, "SHUT UP KEEFE!", which Keefe honestly didn't blame them for. "Anywaysssss, I need your help a lot. Foster started off the day not so great. She had a nightmare at around two, and I'm sure she's getting PTSD from her years of trauma that the Neverseen have given her. I need you to walk me through how to make... Pamcakes? Is that what they're called?", Keefe asked in a confused tone. "Pancakes," Amy corrected, "Sophie's favorite human breakfast! Other than sweets, of course."

~~A lil while later, Sophie POV~~

Sophie was still shaking a bit from her nightmare. She knew Keefe was okay, so why did she have the feeling something awful was about to happen? Oh yeah, she'd spent her teenage years having to be paranoid at the slightest feeling of happiness because a group of murderers wanted her dead. That's why.

Keefe stumbled into the room with a tray of blueberry pancakes, dripping with sticky syrup and a bowl of sliced bananas, grapes, cantaloupe, and strawberries, plus a glass of orange juice. "What- how did you-?", Sophie questioned as she glanced between the tray and Keefe. It was her absolute favorite breakfast her human mom made for her before school on testing days, or other stressful occasions, always assuring her it'd be alright. It felt like a lifetime ago, and in a way, it was. "I had a bit of help from Amy," Keefe answered sheepishly. "It's perfect Keefe, honestly, I love it. Thank you," Sophie said, her voice slightly trembling. "Hey, are you okay Foster? You've had a pretty emotional day already and it's only eight-thirty," Keefe said. "Yes, yes, it's just- my human mom made this for me whenever I had something big going on, it feels like so long ago," Sophie replied softly. "It kinda was Foster, already 6 years, but I know what you mean," Keefe told her, leaning in to kiss her forehead and grab a piece of cantaloupe. She grinned at her goofy boyfriend and dug into her delicious breakfast. Her and Keefe had both planned something for the day.
