'Oh, are you someone's date?' I grinned.
'Actually yes.'
'Oh, I was kind of hoping you were single, maybe I could have asked you out on a date.' I smiled softly.
'Thankyou, but I love my boyfriend very much.' The man nodded but didn't leave.
'What if I offered you money?' I frowned at him slightly but wiped it from my face quickly, remembering Theo's threat about minding my manners.
'No thankyou.'
'But if you're someone's date, surely they're paying you.' That kind of hurt.
'No, please excuse me.' I said stepping away from him and looking for Tyler.
'I didn't mean to offend you.' The man said as he followed. 'What if I offered you something your date couldn't.' I frowned again not bothering to hide my annoyance.
'I already said no, now please, leave me alone.'
'Come on,' the man grabbed my arm and I froze. 'I promise that if you come with me nothing bad will happen.'
'Please let me go.' I asked with as much restraint as possible.
'It's okay I-' I snapped and punched him in the nose, he stumbled back, blood spurting from his face. 'Shit.' He muttered, no one looked at us and I took a deep breath.
'I told you no, I love the man I am with, now leave me the fuck alone or I'll cut your fucking dick off.' I grabbed a napkin from a nearby table and wiped my hand of the blood, none of it was mine but it was kind of gross. I headed over to the table where Theo was talking with Tyler.
'Oh, I see you've escaped from Marcus.' I looked Theo up and down, my breathing was calm but my heart rate was high, I could hear it pounding in my ears.
'So that was one of your friends?'
'Yes.'
'Well I broke his nose.' Theo looked a little surprised. 'Try that shit again and I will royally fuck you up.' I took Tyler's hand and we walked away.
'Are you all right?'
'I hate your brother.' This made Tyler laugh a little and he handed me a champagne glass.
'I love you.' He whispered in my ear and I settled considerably and he kissed my cheek before pulling back and looking out over the crowd. A few people came over to talk to us, but we were left alone for the most of the meet and greet, being sat at the high table with Tyler's parents and brothers. Theo's friend Marcus was sitting at the table too, nose swollen and eyes already bruising, Theo was laughing about something and it made Marcus look pissed off.
'I want to go back to our room.' Tyler muttered and when I looked up at him I saw his eyes glisten and I smiled, I leant over and whispered in his ear.
'I'll do that thing you like if you do the thing I like.' His cheeks flushed that slight shade of pink I loved to see and he nodded.
'You two are quiet the little love birds aren't you?' Amelia asked looking at Tyler and I as we all ate. 'I hope you won't mind if I steal Zach away from you for a little while sweetheart, there's someone I want to introduce him to.' Tyler grit his teeth and I watched as his hands flexed.
'I do mind.'
'Well suck it up, it'll only be for a few minutes.' Theo said annoyed and I glared at him. Keep it together, the last thing you need is to embarrass Tyler's parents by going ape shit on his brother, even if the prick deserves it.
'It's fine.' I smiled and leant back to Tyler's ear. 'It won't be long and we can slip away from here soon, spend some time talking with your dad.' I kissed his cheek as his mother stood and I followed suit.
'I don't have anyone to introduce you to.' Amelia giggled as we walked out onto the balcony together. 'I just wanted to talk to you.'
'Oh?' She leant on the balcony and sighed out.
'I just want to know if my baby is okay, he won't talk to us, even when we call he doesn't talk to us but Tate and Titus tell me that he talks to you, and that you're almost all he talks about.' I smiled quietly as I stood next to her and looked out over the view.
'Tyler talks; people just make him nervous and uncomfortable. I'm not really sure why he chose me; we haven't really spoken about it too much. He's doing great though, He stays in school all day and he loves to read.'
'He can read?'
'Yeah, I taught him how to read, he loves books, reads all the ones I have and in the one conversation we've had about the future he said he wouldn't mind becoming a librarian because then he would have tones of books to read.' This made her smile.
'Will you tell me more about him? What's his favourite things?' I grinned.
'Well me.' She chuckled. 'I'm not kidding I asked once and he said I was his favourite thing, but from what I can tell, he likes chocolate ice cream, hate's strawberry says that it's too sweet. He likes spaghetti and meatballs, he doesn't really like the idea of sports because of how close you have to get to people, he said if he had to pick something it would be baseball because it's a game where you don't have to be close to many people at a time.' She smiled happily.
'And what about you? Tell me about yourself, are you happy? Thad tells me that he saw you with your shirt off and you were covered in scars and bruises.' I felt my face flush.
'The... those... they're not exactly bruises, they're hickies, and the bite mark scars are from Tyler but it's hard to explain. We kind of have a kinky sex life, I'm so sorry, I really don't want to explain this part to you.' She grinned.
'It's alright darling.' She winked and I felt nervous and had to look away. 'What about the rest of your life? Tate tells me your home life isn't exactly the nicest. Titus says you've been staying with them for the past few months?' Tate is a nosey gossiping bastard. Titus talks about me? Weird...
'My family wasn't the greatest, my dad used to hit me a lot, and then when he found out I was homosexual he disowned me. Tyler lost it and then Tate and Titus came over and spoke to my dad and mum, they don't speak to me anymore. Tyler didn't bother considering anything and moved me in with him, Tate and Titus said it was okay. I spend most of my time with Tyler and I try not to think about it as much as possible.' I shrugged and tried to smile.
'I'm sorry that the world didn't bless you as well as it did my family.' I shrugged and smiled out at the view sadly.
'That's okay, sometimes I like to think that I had to put up with all that crap just so I got to meet Tyler. If that's true then I'm okay with it.'
'I think my son loves you very much, and I am envious, he'll barely looks in my direction but you? He can't take his eyes off of you.'
'I don't think that he means to, the love he has for me is very different to that he would have for you, I think that it's easier to love me than his family.'
'Easier?'
'Well, I'm simple, I have no attachments to him, he can shape our relationship however he wishes and sometimes he does, but there are no rules between us. With family it is different, there's a battle for dominance, especially in your family, obviously Thaddeus is the top, followed by you but I think he believes that he is next in line, before Theo even. To be honest with you I've seen him do some terrible things. I don't know Theo very well and if you'll excuse me, he's a right jackass,' this made her giggle and smile, 'but Tyler might be able to take on Theo.'
