Kim Seokjin always thought that the worst thing about being a vampire would be eternal damnation. Life full of despair and misery. Not having anyone fully understand you — not even having the chance to find someone who would try. Living alone in the woods, feeding off people who would get lost in there. Not having a place to sleep, just some stinky burrow in the ground which would eventually be found by someone brave enough to kill him.

It never occurred to him that he would once be living in the centre of Seoul, with five other guys that happened to have the same malediction. And it never occurred to him that he would be the one raising them, either.

How did this happen, you ask? He is not so sure, to be honest. Would he let them become part of his life if he had known about the chaos they would bring? The answer varies from day to day, really. Sometimes, he is grateful to have people who have the same secret, who experience somewhat similar things. Other times, he would much rather prefer living in the burrow.

Like today, for example.

Imagine you are laying in your bed, drifting somewhere between sleep and vigilance. With the thought of everything you have to do throughout the day, you just want to spend a few more minutes in bed — just a few. You turn to your left side, still hoping you will fall asleep for a while. The silk quilt is brushing against your skin when you wrap yourself in it. Your eyelids are so heavy you cannot keep them open. It feels like you are actually going to achieve your goal and get more rest.

And then you hear a strong thud, which is followed by two people yelling at each other.

This is what immediately wakes Jin up, and the only thing he can do is growl in annoyance. But... perhaps he doesn't have to deal with it, if only there was someone else who could step in.

He opens his eyes and looks across the room. There is another bed opposite his, which is pressed against the wall. A man younger than Jin is laying there, with his back facing him.

"Joon," Jin says, his voice still hoarse. He doesn't get any reaction, and so he decides to throw one of his pillows at him. "Joon."

He can hear a stubborn no coming out of the younger one's mouth.

"Please—"

"I dealt with them the last time. Now it's your turn."

This is certainly not the answer Jin hoped for. He considers ignoring the fuss outside of the room for a split of seconds, but the voices grow louder.

"Deal. With. It." Namjoon says, making sure to stress every word of that sentence. Jin growls again and tangles out of the bedsheets.

"I did not sign up for this," he mumbles as he is making his way through the room, putting on a dark blue bathrobe to keep himself warm. He opens the door, walks down the corridor and stops between the door frame leading to the spacey kitchen. Two boys with blond hair are standing beside the kitchen island, and they are in the middle of a heated argument. They do not notice Jin's presence, which is something he decides to take to his advantage. He wants to know what the reason he had to wake up so early is — and whose side he should pick in the end.

"I cannot believe you would do that!" the older one of the two, Jimin, exclaims. The boy is wearing a pyjama pants and a long bathrobe which reaches down to his ankles. His hair is pulled into a messy ponytail (it is not long enough for him to make a bun yet), his face is flushed, and he is pointing his index finger at the younger one.

"Well, I have told you many times before to not leave your things laying around in my room!" Taehyung snaps back. His hair is much messier than Jimin's; tender curls are falling into his face, which is obviously irritating him in this situation. However, he does nothing to push them back; he just stands there with his squinted eyes and crossed arms.
