Hunting gets complicated when the heavy rains come along. Normally, the boys always go to the forest, which is the closest to Seoul, simply because it's the most convenient option. During times like these, though, they have to look for better alternatives: because what would be the point of hunting when all the animals were hidden in their bolt-holes?
That's why they have to drive to different areas of the country sometimes. Tonight, they have to go to a place which is a two-hour drive away from their home. It's a place they've visited before, but regardless of that, the territory does not contain the same kind of familiarity as the regular one. Different hunters look for prey there, and Jin had to make several calls to make sure it was okay for them to come. It turned out another group chose the same night as them, which could potentially cause a problem. They were on a friendly terms with the group, though, and in the end that's the reason why their final decision was to go.
They arrive around eleven in the evening, pulling up their car into an old, abandoned parking lot. The main source of light are the glimmering streetlamps; the moon is mostly hidden behind the clouds, which allow only a few stripes of light shine from behind them. The other group, which has its car parked in the corner of the lot where the streetlamps don't work at all, is larger than theirs: eight people, to be exact.
The moment their car stops, Jimin and Taehyung can't contain themselves and jump out of it. Hoseok can feel all the emotions bubbling inside of them: the excitement and the adrenaline slowly kicking in being the strongest. Namjoon waits for him to turn off the car and lock the steering wheel. They take a gift bag they prepared and finally leave the car, locking it as well.
As they approach the other group, another mixture of emotions floods towards Hoseok — which are quite the same as the ones of their maknaes. A red-haired girl is leaning against the car, a smirk playing on her lips: "Well, well, well. Who do we have here?"
"As if you didn't know we were coming over tonight, Kath."
"I doubted it for a while. You said you would arrive around ten," she tilts her head and squints her eyes in an adorable way. "You are a slow driver, huh?"
"There was traffic," Hoseok shrugs his shoulders, a small smile forming on his lips. He can't remember the last time they met each other.
"Exactly what a slow driver would say," another girl, Nari, says cheekily. Hoseok wants to react, but Namjoon is the first to speak this time: "We brought you a gift."
He reaches out his hands with the bag towards Kath, and the girl takes it without looking at its contents. "That was not necessary."
"You are letting us hunt here. This is the least we could do," Hoseok says.
"It's nothing," she shrugs her shoulders, smiling.
"Where's the rest of your crew, though?" another one of the group—Jae—speaks out. His eyes are scanning them and the car, as if he was expecting Jin and Yoongi to jump out of their hiding.
"They had to stay at home," Namjoon says; the tone of his voice makes it obvious no further questions will be answered about the matter. They don't want to get the word out about Jungkook. Not just yet. It could put him in danger, especially if he eventually decided to leave them.
"Seokjin-hyung didn't come, either?" a pout forms on one of the youngest members of the group: a small slim boy with green hair. Luke.
"No."
"Oh..."
Jimin's lips widen into a teasing smile. "Aw, does someone have a crush on our Jinnie-hyung?"
Luke glares at him, stepping closer. "Shut it."
The blond raises his hands in a defensive manner, but the smile doesn't leave his face. "I'm just joking around."
