Demented

Chapter 12.

"Oh, hello Victoria." I bolted out the door & bump into the sheriff. That's just perfect. Now I've got tears balling out my eyes & oh my god, I've got blood stains on my mouth.

"Um, you've got a little something -" He raised his hand to my mouth & a very concerned look planted on his face. But before he could analyze it, I ran back inside.

"The sheriff is here!" I gulped. Chase grabbed my hand & pulled me upstairs. We in Aydans house, which means, he's here for Aydan.. But what has Aydan got to do with this?

"You were stupid to leave the house looking like this, Tori!" He wet a cloth & gently wiped off the blood from my face. I hate it when he acts like this. Like I'm a little girl who doesn't know anything & he's my master who must teach me everything. Sure I'm still learning but I'll learn from doing.

"Don't even start, Chase." I growled & leant against the wall. I just want to sleep for eternity.

"Do you think I'm just saying this? Tori, if they had a chance to look closely & figure out that it was blood, you would've had some serious explaining to do." Chase rinsed the cloth with water & followed me into Aydans room.

"Chase! I know. But I wasn't really thinking when I ran out. Maybe the human blood was messing with my head." I sarcastically laughed as if I was being 'silly'. I could swear I'm just some dog.

"Sorry, next time I'll leave you to die." He snapped. I know they helped me but that was still not the way to go about things. I basically killed someone.

"Thank you for helping me, Chase. " I guess I should just suck it up. My arguments becoming a bit invalid. Besides, they were under pressure too & they can't spend my last few hours on earth trying to get me to save my life. If that makes any sense at all.. Then again, nothing makes sense in this world.

"Tori, You make me laugh, you're smart, you're always there for the people you love. You're beautiful. Inside & out. & I didn't want a girl like you to die before me when I knew I could've helped. You're special, Victoria. & obviously those aren't the only reasons I wanted to save you." He closed the door & walked over to me. The moonlight shimmering in his eyes & the occasional glare on his teeth when he smiled from blushing & the pureness in his voice sent chills right through my body.

"Oh yeah, & what are the other reasons?" I giggled & felt my cheeks burning, because I knew the answer to that question. I just wanted to hear it again. Not many guys are pure with me. So I don't even know what to say. But I know I am grateful.

"I've caught feelings. But you already knew that." He paused & tugged on his hair. He's usually so open about life. He never gets shy when talking to girls so I don't know why he's getting all nervous now.

"I think you did mention that awhile back, Mr Waters. But you did nothing to prove your words were true." I held my hands behind my back & straightened my posture. As if we were doing business.

"Oh really? & what is it I can do to prove my words were true?" He folded his arms & shrugged his shoulders. A little laugh escaping his lips.

"Oh.. I don't know.." I swayed & took a step closer to him. Biting my lips. An excited smile spread across his face. He grabbed my waist & pulled me into him.

"How about.. This.." He's heart skipped & his lips reached mine. Well, nearly reached mine.

"Ah ah ahh. That won't make me believe anything." I tapped my finger on his mouth & turned around. A kiss won't prove anything. A kiss & a little extra is what side-chicks do.
