Them

I have changed
The person who was once
carefree and joyous
Is now exhausted
And damaged

I used to wear a smile
Like it were a shining jewel
But now I wear a smile
To hide my cracks and ripped seams

To friends who say "you are amazing"
And lovers to say "I'll stay"
My dear friends are subconsciously using me
And my lover is blinded by my lies

I know it hurts
They say
It gets better
They say
We can help you
They say

And yet they never help
