Flower Amongst Thorns [Boy x Boy]

Chapter 12

Once that ordeal was finally over, the swordsman had somehow managed to lose sight of Ivy for a moment almost sending him into a panic because he knew how reckless that idiot could be.

That is until he saw the eighteen-year-old running back with at least eight bags of cotton candy.

"Look what I found! It's pink and fluffy, and apparently you can even eat it!" Ivy exclaimed excitedly. "I got some for you too!"

Artios took a deep breath, as the eighteen-year-old excitedly shoved around half the pile into the man's arms with a toothy grin.

He didn't even want to know how much the younger probably got fooled into paying for that after last time.

He couldn't have one second of peace with this guy...

"You idiot! Who is going to eat that much cotton candy in a day?!" Artios rubbed his forehead in frustration. "Do you take even one second to think into the future?! What will we do with all of this once we're done?! It takes up too much space!"

"Ooh cotton candy is such a cool name, I thought it would be called pink fluffy clouds or-"

"C'mon, we are returning these. We can't carry them around with us all day." The swordsman grabbed Ivy's hand and dragged him to the stall, thanking the heavens the teen hadn't removed the plastic packaging yet.

In the end they weren't able to refund the items and Artios didn't want to cause a scene, so they exchanged them for smaller hard candies and chocolates that the thief had to end up stuffing in their bag.

"Wow, it's melting in my mouth! It's so sweet! This is amazing!"  Ivy exclaimed in shock and awe, as he bit into the cotton candy.

He had insisted of keeping one stick for himself before the older gave back the rest.

"You like it that much?" Artios raised his brow.

"Yes! It feels like eating a cloud." Ivy emphasized, "Here, I'll be nice and give you a bite."

The small teen suddenly held out the stick directly in front of the swordsman's face on the side that hadn't been bitten.

The man was about to refuse because he wasn't too fond of sweet things, however when he saw Ivy's wide eyes staring at him with an eager and expectant expression, he found himself unable to say no.

He took a small bite from the side and grumbled, "It's nice."

The teen looked at him with a surprised expression, but quickly tried going back to normal and responded, "S-see I told you."

Artios was confused for a second, until realization struck him. Ivy had probably expected him to take a piece and not directly bite into it from his hands as if he was being fed!

Why am I such a dumbass?! He thought to himself with a blush.

Thankfully that moment was quickly forgotten as Ivy started his rambling again throughout the way, until they set up camp around the far outskirts of town because it was too dark to travel any further.
