Amity ran the brush through her hair one last time managing to get the final knots out. She walked over to her full size mirror and ran her fingers in between every single one of her greenish-blue hair making it appear to be more voluminous. Realizing she would be late to school if she didn't leave soon she ran down the manors dimly lit stairs to get something for breakfast.

She reached the decently sized pantry to find her Mother standing next to it looking at her sternly. Amity greeted her mother and reached to open it when Odalia said "There is no time for eating, what will be thought of me if I fail to get my children to school on time." Odalia grabbed Amity's hand and brought her to the family's large carriage.

"Get in" she said coldly opening the front door and throwing Amity in the vehicle. Edric and Emira where waiting in the back seats when they heard Amity's stomach grumble. "Looks like Mittens is pretty hungry" Ed stated to his sister. Odalia glared at him " your sister was running late and didn't have the time to eat, please stop discussing the matter." Emira reached into her bag and pulled out a small package of chocolate coated falcon eggs and offered it to Amity "here take these, you didn't even have diner last night." Amity reached for the treat, but Odalia stopped that from happening " Amity you could get something on your uniform, that would be unbecoming of a Blight." Her mother looked down at Amity and snatched the small bag out of her hands. "Where did this even come from Emira, we don't have anything like this in the cupboard"

Odalia studied the packaging looking up every few words to look at Emira. Just as Odalia was about to scold the oldest Blight daughter Amity cut her off "please Mother don't punish her, she was just trying to help. If anything I should be punished for being late." "Very well then" Odalia said condescendingly " you will be walking to school and your father and I will discuss this after your home from school". Amity looked up at her anger filled mother "yes ma'am" she said exiting the carriage.

Odalia soon took of in the vehicle as amity started her walk, it was at least thirty minutes without distractions so she had to move fast. She started walking in what she thought was the right direction looking for landmarks to guide the way. She had been walking for about fifteen minutes when she saw a familiar human.

"Luz" she called trying to signal the short haired girl. "Amity" she shouted in return "I never knew you walked to school." "I normally don't but today is a well... special occasion" she stammered. "Well how about we walk together" Luz asked locking eye. Amity agreed and held out her hand which Luz quickly grabbed. Amity couldn't help but stare at Luz as she held her hand, she wanted this moment to last forever The girls talked and laughed the whole way to school making them twenty minutes late for their first period. As their professor scolded them Amity could stop thinking about their walk and how it was the best morning she's ever had.
