"Okay, Y/n!"
A lady with blonde hair and brown eyes was speaking to you. She was wearing modest clothing, mostly whites. Quite the opposite of the bitchy looking girl you saw on the way in. The lady's face radiated kindness when she smiled at you. Even though she seemed like a nice person, you knew that getting on the wrong side of her would mean death. You could see it in her eyes.
You sat in the lounge of a massive house. The walls were whitewashed and even though the rooms looked clean. It didn't hide the stench of death and blood. There were paintings of old yet powerful looking women hung everywhere felt like they were staring into your very soul, almost judging whether you were good enough.
"I'm Cordelia Goode, I run this constitution. I imagine you don't know much about this place."
'Well no shit' You thought, but didn't say anything out loud, it was at least worth a try to make a good first impression. Even though that might soon turn to ashes as well.
When you didn't answer, Cordelia continued speaking even though her tone was plain."This building is called Miss Robichaux Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, we accept girls with talents. Such talents we believe you posses."
"Oh. You mean setting fire to the whole school" You say, you squinted your eyes and smiled sarcastically. Great. You had just ruined your first impression.
"Yes. I do understand if you didn't mean to do it. We all make mistakes when our powers are forming. We believe you to be a very powerful individual" Cordelia's solemn expression hadn't changed since the little sarcastic comment so you presumed she had just overlooked it.
"Y/n? Can you show me what you can do?" Cordelia asked politely.
You decided there was no point holding back so you conjured a spark in your palm and allowed it to grow into a flame that licked around your fingertips. You didn't feel any pain at all, in fact, it was soothing.
"Wow. Fascinating. I've never seen a witch do it like that before" Cordelia said pulling her reading glasses away from her eyes so she could get a closer look.
"Do you want me to throw the flame or make something catch on fire? I can do that easily" You say. You tried to hide the pride in your voice but it just slipped out.
"No dear. That's amazing already. Can you do anything else?" Cordelia asked.
"Nope. Well, I did float in my sleep once or twice but I'm not sure I can demonstrate that." You say letting a giggle escape your mouth.
Cordelia smiled as well. It wasn't like the welcome smile she gave you before. It was a smile with a twinkle in her eye that meant she knew something about you that nobody else could even imagine.
