For a split second, you saw all his emotions flash through his dimly lit face, then the candle flickered and so did his emotions before returning to their natural state:
Sarcasm and arrogance.
These short moments always make you reconsider whether Langdon was the antichrist or not.
He seemed so... human.
Still, you couldn't afford to think like this.
He was trying to get under your skin and stop you from killing him.
He knew that in the end, the two of you would cross paths and have to fight one another.
It was inevitable...
And also prophesied, you had read that you were the one to vanquish the antichrist and that wasn't exactly a great thing to live up to.
"Reconsider my deal?" Micheal asks out of the stunned silence, making all your thoughts fall deeper into the oblivion of your head.
These days you had far too much to think about.
He smiles coyly at you, as if he knew something that you didn't.
He probably did.
"I'm good thanks." You say, attempting to swerve past him and continue walking but he stuck an arm out to stop you.
"And yet you are going to murder house... why?" He persists, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
"To confirm our suspicion." You say, thoroughly.
"Which is?" Langdon inquires.
"I think you already know." You say, smiling smugly since you quoted the exact words he told you back in Myrtle's hell.
Micheal's eyebrows relaxed and his expression turned dull.
You got the impression that he didn't like being pissed off. No one did. But Micheal's pissed off was probably a million times worse.
"You are going to die in there." Langdon says, keeping the dull expression and acting if he didn't care.
"When?" You ask, mimicking being scared just to annoy him before calming your tone into a sarcastic manner, very alike to his. "Oh wait, the apocalypse, we are all going to die anyways so who gives a shit."
Suddenly, you hear a rushing sound coming from the other side of the corridor.
Was someone else awake?
Luckily, that person wouldn't be able to see you, but they'd be able to see Micheal and he would obviously give away that you were there so you quickly drag him around to the other corner.
"What!?" Micheal shouts, throwing his arms into the air, confused as to why you moved him but you just motion for him to shush.
"Stay there." You say, backing away, not completely sure why you thought that the antichrist would actually stay put but still leave him and stalk towards the sound.
To your luck, it turned out the noise was just the air conditioning that had turned on for the morning.
You walk back to where you had left Micheal, debating whether it was actually a good idea to leave him alone since he could kill some people or something like that.
He's probably left now, there would be no gain in him staying there. You think as you arrive to the corner where you left him.
To your surprise, Micheal was still there.
But to your horror, he was clutching...
A human heart
