That was all that was written for you.

No nothing.

Just those nine words written in that jet black ink, staring right back at your bewildered face.

Your breathing turns shaky as you back away from the book.

It seemed it had no other secrets to tell you.

You turn your back and stumble away from the book, not quite ready to be the bearer of bad news yet again.

And then, as if it was just messing with you, you heard the noise of pages fluttering and flicking.

You whip your head around, more confused than anything.

You run back up to the book, heart pounding as it stopped on the first ever page.

This can't be a coincidence.

Deja vu.

Your eyes scanned the page for anything that could help you in the future. But it only read a few words of reassurance.

All is not lost, Queenie is not gone forever.

The prophecy wouldn't have shocked you at all... if it weren't for that it had been the first thing that had ever been written in this sacred book.

The book moved itself shut and you knew it definitely couldn't tell you anymore.

"Cordelia!" You shout back, rushing over to her who was waiting patiently just outside the room, focusing on the good news, "It says Queenie's not gone forever."

"That's great!" Cordelia says beaming at you, but sadly, you couldn't hold that same grin.

"There's also some bad news." You say, looking to the ground, "Very bad news."

"What?" Cordelia asks, breaking the silence that had probably only been two seconds but it felt like it had lasted a lifetime.

"It said, 'In the end, it is only evil that shall prevail.'" You finish, sneaking a glance at Cordelia's worried eyes that reflected your own.

"Oh." She says.

"Mmhmm." You agree, nodding and twiddling on your feet.

The silence between the two of you definitely lasted more than a few seconds that time.

"But.. can't a prophecy change?" You ask, breaking the stillness of the room.

"Not that I know of." Cordelia says, shrugging.

"Can't we at least try?" You ask, hoping that Cordelia might even show the glimpse of a smile.

She was the head of the coven; anything she said was what the whole coven did, anything she felt was what the whole coven felt so you couldn't have her negativity or your own penetrating the lives of these young girls.

"It might mean something else though." Cordelia suggests, grasping onto hope just like you had.

"Yes, ermmm, it might mean that evil is stronger but not against multiple people?" You suggest, your voice going slightly high pitched at the end.

Cordelia shook her head before opening her mouth to speak.

"I think it's time we pay a visit to our voodoo friends."
