POV: Robo

I was sitting in bed, trying to figure out how to fix the dent in my foot. Nothing was coming to mind, since I didn't have any tools that would work. I hissed in frustration, closing my eyes.

My mind was so foggy. It felt like tv static in there. It started yesterday, and continued into this morning.

I opened my eyes and growled, pulling out my communicator.

<RobotGrian> can someone please help me with this dent in my foot?

<BadTimesWithScar> why do you have a dent in your foot?

<RobotGrian> I stepped on a rock too hard.

It was so... weird, typing it. It was a natural instinct to cover for people, but even while doing so I realized how dumb my excuse sounded.

<BadTimesWithScar> I have a lot of scattered knowledge on weird things. Maybe I can help?

<RobotGrian> Sure. just come to my house

<BadTimesWithScar> okay!

POV: BadTimes

Once I arrived at Robo's house I saw Robo just sitting in bed, just staring off into space. "Hello!" I greeted. Robo looked in my direction, his expression unreadable. "Hey." He said. I walked over to where he was. "Can I see the dent?" I asked.

Robo nodded, slowly taking off his shoe. The dent was small, but definitely noticeable. I was surprised a pebble could do this. "How hard were you walking?" I asked in surprise, trying to piece this all together. "I don't really know. This just kinda... ha-appened."

I was skeptical. I could tell he was lying, but I couldn't tell how. I shoved the thought to the back of my mind. 'You can figure that out later, but first you have to solve this.' I told myself. After that I tried thinking on how I could fix this.

After a moment of silence I spoke. "I don't know anything, sorry." I said in an apologetic tone. "Its okay. Uhm- if you don't mind, could you stay? I like compa-any." Robo asked. "Sure!" I said with a smile. I just sat on the oak floor.

It was silent for a moment. Neither of us knew what to say. "Uhm- Why did you think you could help?" Robo asked, trying to strike up a conversation. I thought for a moment, wondering what to say. "Do you want my entire backstory or do you want a lie?" I asked. It was Robo's turn to think now. "Ba-ackstory." He finally responded.

I hummed, wondering where to start. "I was one of the Vex's... experiments, if you will. They took DNA of Scar, merged it with a Vex, and now I'm here." I started. "I lived in a woodland mansion for a while, and whenever I could I stole their books to read. I never got to read an entire book, but I did get to read the first chapters of many. Thats why I have small bits of knowledge on practically anything." I explained.

Robo stayed silent for a moment, taking it in. "How'd you get here?" He asked eventually.

"We'll, as an experiment of the Vex, I have some of their abilities. By some I mean one, and that is turning invisible." I said, holding up my hand and turning it invisible to show. "One day I decided I had enough of living in that stupid mansion and left. The Vex caught me halfway through though, so I had to kinda rush a getaway. Then I found a small lavender portal, rushed through, and then I fell out of a tree. You can guess what happened next." I explained, smiling.

"I found a po-ortal like that too." Robo blurted. "Really? How'd you find it?" I asked curiously. Robo paused, as if debating with himself. "Sh-hould I share my ba-ackstory? I pro-obably should get it off my chest.." Robo muttered. "Share it with me. If its troubling you and you need to say it, you should." I advised. 'Plus the readers want to know.' The thought sprouted its way into my head, and I had no idea where it came from. I shoved it away, deciding to look into it later.

Robo took a deep breath in, getting ready to start. "Well, it started with me, Poult, and NPG." Robo started. "We were created by Grian. We lived in a rustic house Grian built for us. Grian we-ent out to do th-i-ings, and we just played." Robo continued. "We cons-sidered each other brothers. So-ometimes when Grian was sick, I'd go play build battle in place of him."

"Th-then Grian left for her-ermitcraft. He brou-ought Poult with him." Robo said, shuddering. "NPG got locked in a clos-et, and Grian left us in the care of two Wa-atchers. They tre-eated us horribly." Robo breathed out. I could tell he wanted to stop, but I also knew he needed to continue. "Eve-entually Poult came back. When he did he was co-overed in burns. One of his wings had even been burned off. Then every so often Grian visited, and when he did..." Robo trailed off.

"If you don't want to continue thats okay." I offered. "No, no. Its not that I don't want to. I just physically can't speak bad about Grian. Im coded that way. I can imply it, but I can't outright do it." Robo explained. He paused to take a breath, then continued.

"Eventua-ally I tried to escape. I overhe-eard the Watchers planning to burn down the house, so I ran. As I left the house was set alight. I eventually found the same portal you did and fell through, but..." He paused. "I'll never forget the sight. My home drowned in purple flames."

"I hope Poult and NPG are okay." He finished.

I looked at him, trying to think of something to say. 'They're safe.' The thought was just like the one before. I truly believed it, too. I somehow knew that Robo's brothers were fine. "They are. Im sure of it." I said, comforting Robo.

"Thanks."
