Oikawa's POV:
I awoke to a familiar burning sensation on my left shoulder, annoyance finding it's way across my brow. It wasn't that they had drawn, they did that a lot, it was that they'd woken me up. A quick glance at my alarm clock told me I would've had about fifteen more minutes if they hadn't. My arms flopped down beside me and I laid in silence for a few seconds, listening to the faint buzz that always seemed to fill the air. Before getting up I rubbed my heavy eyelids, not wanting to have to go to school or really do much of anything.
But, per usual on weekdays, I eventually got myself out of bed and down towards the kitchen. My mom, thank God, wasn't home. It was only me and my brother Daiko, my other two brothers at their dad's. It was rather early when I arrived in the kitchen, maybe about four fifty, so it wasn't surprising that Daiko hadn't woken up quite yet. I grabbed a pen from a cup we keep on the island in the kitchen, uncapping it and placing the top against my palm.
Note To Self:
Practice receives with I-CI didn't want my soulmate to know anything about me, so I used the initials for 'Iwa-chan' instead of his actual name. A small twing of pain still invaded my chest whenever I think about how Iwa-chan wasn't my soulmate. I was so excited to check the day we both turned fourteen, but that feeling was quickly squished when he didn't have the same mark I did.
Somewhere in the time I had spent thinking that I had poured myself a bowl of cereal, eating it mindlessly.
"Hi-" I interrupted my younger brothers greeting with a short scream, not knowing he was standing there.
"Sorry," I started. "Didn't know you were there."
"Oh, I thought you were screaming because you looked in a mirror or something," he joked, pouring his own bowl of cereal.
We ate in silence for the most part, Daiko somehow managing to choke on his cereal. After we had both finished I left the kitchen to make my way to the upstairs bathroom, Daiko occupying the downstairs one. Once I entered I looked at my reflection for a few seconds. Not in a vain way but just to see how I looked. I began chewing on my thumbnail as I looked longer, my brain slowly pointing out all the details it doesn't like.
A heavy sigh pushed its way from my lips as I opened the mirror, revealing an interior medicine cabinet. From there I took out my toothbrush and toothpaste. Two minutes later and I was done brushing my teeth. After that I did my morning pee, flushing and washing my hands afterwards, and then all that was left to do was change. Upon arrival in my room I changed into the clothes I had set out the day prior, finally being ready for school.
"If you're not in the car in five minutes I'm leaving without you," I announced as I made it to the bottom of the stairs.
"Okay!" was all the response I got.
And, true to my word, I waited five minutes before slightly raising my voice to say I was leaving.
"Wait a second!" Daiko called, rushing out from his room, his shirt only half buttoned. We wore the same outfit roughly, both of us being in high school, though he's only a first year. He had a beanie set on his head that had one of those little bobbles. Making its way out of the brim was some of his hair. It's natural color was a dark brown, but the bangs, which were rather long and hung limply to the left side of his face, ombréd into a platinum blonde. His black glasses sat on his nose, the brown eyes underneath looking just like mine.
