I tried my best to avoid Jamie in class and in the halls today. Curse it when I had to go to lunch. I was walking to my usual table when I heard Jamie call my name.

"Dylan. Dylan wait please!" He begged jogging towards me.

"What's up." I say staring at tree outside trying to avoid his eyes.

"What's wrong. I was trying to walk you to lunch, but when I looked around the class you were gone."

Did I mention he was in the class with me before lunch.

"Oh sorry. Didn't see you.. Bye." I turned on my heel as fast as I could and walked to the Wendy's line.

"Are you kidding me Dylan." His said as I looked back. I turned around.

"What do you mean." I ask.

"You know what I mean. You have been avoiding me all day."

"Jamie no I haven't, and it's not like we're "best friends" anyways." I use air quotes.
"Oh... But I-." I cut him off.

"Jamie... Just please let me eat my food in peace. I'm pretty sure your girlfriend wants you anyways." I say in a slightly harsh tone.

"Ok, yeah. I'll see you around." His smile was fading away with every word he said.

I turned away walking to my table. I look back, and he's still in that same spot I left him in. I quickly turn around as I notice I was staring at him.
Talk about being alone. I think to myself as I pick at my french fries.

The rest of the day flys by, which really surprises me. I quickly grab my homework and a couple of books out of my locker and shut the door. I turn around only to face a grinning Jamie.
"What do you want Jamie?" I ask getting annoyed.

"I wanted to know if you had any plans for tonight." He ask taking a step back. Now we have a least a foot between us. Literally his foot, and that's about it.

"You just don't quit, do you."I ask.

"No.. Not really." He chuckles and I laugh.

"Fine. What do you have in mind?" I ask.
"Well. I was thinking a movie and then some dinner. Maybe..... I don't know."

"That's fine. I guess."I say.

"I'll pick you up at 7:00. Be ready."

"I will." I tease.

With that being said he turns and heads out the school doors. I head the same way and walk out the doors. I scan the parking lot to look for my car. When I find I head towards it.

The drive back home was a bore. I live all the way on the other side of town.
"I'm home from school!!" I yell.

Then I realize that I was yelling to no one. I walk to the refrigerator and I find a note stuck to the door.
Dylan. I'm gonna be gone for a couple of days. I have a business trip to attend. I'm pretty sure you and Cat will be fine. This has happened before.
Just in case you need it, I left some money in the usual spot. By the way when you get home from school go get Cat from grandma's house. Love you. - Mom

Well this is great. I'm gonna be alone with that brat. I grab a tea out of the refrigerator and walk outside the door. I lock the door and walk towards my car. I freeze in my tracks as I see a white Chevy pull up in my driveway.
I slightly smile when I see who hops out the car.

"Hey Dylan." Jamie says and smiles at me.

"Hello Jamie. What are you doing here?" I ask confused.

"I don't know. Where you going?" He ask looking at the keys in my hand.

"Oh. I gotta go get my sister from my grandma's house." I say and slightly push him out the way to get to my car.

"Oh.. Just remember. 7:00. Okay?" He ask and backs away to his car.

"Ok." I answer and hop in the drivers seat.

This is gonna be very interesting.
