I could tell he had nothing to say afterwards. I'd left him in total shock. Hey. It was true. He didn't even know me. Heck no one does! I don't blame them though. I'm the one who sets myself apart from other people. It's what you call anti-social. Yeah. Right when he got ready to open his mouth I raised an eyebrow to give him a "go ahead" look. But he closed it and realized that he had no excuse. The bell rang and I quickly got up to get ready for my next class.
"Wait." I'd heard Jamie say from behind me.
"What. I've made my point." I said.
"Ok. Fine. You're right. But now I do and maybe I could get to know you a little more." He said with a smirk which caused me to smile.
"No. You have a girlfriend."
Speak of the devil here she comes skipping down the hallway with the rest of the annoying cheer team.
"Hey babe." She leans in and pecks him on the cheek.
"Hello." He says back and forced a smile. She pulls a look at her friends and waves them a dismissing gesture. They walk off down the hallway.
"Anyways. Where were we?" She smirked as she ran her hand down his shirt. Yes. This is very uncomfortable.
"Um so I'm gonna go. Bye Jamie." I mumble walking off. Ok. That was weird. I had to do something. I always arrive early to the class room so I can get my seat at the back early. Soon the kids start filling in. I look at the doorway as Jamie walks in. We make contact. I quickly turn away. I can feel his presence as he walks towards me.
"Hey, I'm sorry for that back there. It was very awkward." He admits and blushes.
"It's fine." I sigh and smile.
"Is this seat taken? Because if it's not it, it is now." He smiles.
"Why all of a sudden you want to sit by me?" I ask.
"You sure do ask a lot of questions." He chuckles.
"I know." I smirk.
By now our teacher had walked in on her usual schedule.
Whatcha doing :)Jamie had slid me a note across our table causing me to look up from my notes at him.
The same thing you're doing. Duh:)!
I say back.Touché;) I see. Hey where do you sit during lunch? I want to sit with you!
Why Jamie?:(
Why the sad face? :(
I don't know. Why do you want to sit with me?
So we can talk more. Is that a problem?
Sigh. I sit at the very back.:) happy now?
Very:)
This went on for the whole class period until the bell finally rang for lunch. Thank goodness our lunch is like different little food stores. Like McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell. I got in the Wendy's line. I got a some barbecue chicken strips and fries and sat down at my table. After a couple of minutes I saw Jamie waving and walking towards me.
"Hey. Sorry I'm late. Marissa is annoying." He says obviously annoyed.
"Ohh. Drama. Spill it." I say dramatically. He laughs.
"Ok. The thing is lately Marissa has been getting on my nerves. She's always touching me in front of people thinking it's ok. She's just ugh. It's been this way for a while." He snaps.
"I thought boys like that stuff." I waggle my eyebrows and eat a french fry.
"Yes we do missy, but she's just annoying. You've got to help me." He pleads.
"What do you mean." I raise an eyebrow.
"Marissa wants me to come over so we can "study"." He uses air quotes.
"Ok. What am I supposed to do?" I ask.
"I can tell her I have plans for you to tutor me in math. Then I can just come over your house and chill for a few hours." He says relaxed.
"I don't know-." I was interrupted.
"Please." He pouts and his blue eyes get all big. I have to give in.
"Fine I'll do it, but you're ordering me Chinese take-out." I order.
"Deal." We shake hands.
"Oh yeah. You still haven't told me your name." He pouts.
"Dylan Greene." I smile. He smiles back which warms my heart.
