After I'd came home from picking Cat up from grandma's house I drove back home and put her to bed. I changed into shorts and a t-shirt before jumping into bed. I watched a little tv before drifting off to sleep.

I woke up in the morning to the sound of my alarm. I walk to the bathroom, turn on the shower and wait for the water to get warm. As soon as I step in the shower the water relaxes my bones.
Only a few more hours. Then it'll be the weekend. Finally.
I think to myself. I quickly wash up and get out the shower. I wrap a towel around my naked body, and walk back to my room. I almost forgot about last night. I had so much fun with Jamie. I still can't believe he called me his friend. I pick through my closet trying to find something to wear. It's nice and warm outside. So I go with khaki shorts, white tank top, and a navy blue sweater. I slip my white converse on to finish my outfit.

After waking Cat up and dropping her off at school. I see my school come into view. I park in my usual parking spot. Instantly Marissa jumps out of her truck, which I didn't realize that it was beside me. She opened my door and practically dragged me out of my car.

"What the hell!" I scream.

"I should be the one saying it to you. He's my boyfriend." She emphasizes "my".

"I know he's your boyfriend. Geez. Layoff." I say rolling my eyes.

"Then why do you keep going around him. First you give him a supposed tutor session. Now you go on dates with him." Now she's in my face.

"It wasn't a date. I'm pretty sure you heard him say we are just friends last night." I smirk in my mind as I replay Jamie dodging her kiss.

"Well listen and listen good. Stay away from my boyfriend!" She says and storms off.

Well this is going to be a good day. Just perfect. I walk in the school and head towards my first period. Just when I thought the day couldn't get any worse, Jamie jogs toward me.

"Hi Dylan." He beams.

"Umm Jamie.... Not right now please. I just wanna get through th-"

"It was Marissa wasn't it?" He interrupts me.

"No Jamie. I just want to go to class. If that is ok with you." I answer slightly raising my voice.

"That's fine. I'll see you around." He calls out as I'm walking away.

I hate to be mean to Jamie or my new best friend, but I also don't want to start drama with Marissa the devil. So I think it's best to keep my distance from him and her.

My classes fly by in a flash. I was really hoping that it would go like that. I'm surprised and relieved when Jamie doesn't doesn't show up in the hallway.

My car is parked in its usual spot when I get to it in the parking lot. My nerves snap when I see Jamie. He's standing by his car talking to his friends. When he sees me staring at him I quickly look away. But that doesn't seem to stop him as I hear footsteps walking in my direction. Don't be rude. Don't be rude. I think to myself as I stare at the ground.

"Hi Dylan. Can we talk?" He ask. When I didn't respond he added "please?"

"Yea, sure. What's up." I ask fidgeting with my fingers.

"I was just wondering why you were so quick to get away from me this morning. I thought I had did something wrong. Did I?" He ask gazing at me.

"No. Of course not. It's just..." I trailed off.

"What? What's wrong?" He ask staring directly into my eyes. I want to tell him what Marissa did this morning, but I don't wanna sound like a little tattletale.
