Holiday season was one of your favorites. It was usually the moment of year you’d always choose to travel back to your family home. On this occasion, unfortunately, the filming schedule was tight and production could only allow the cast to leave for a few days for the holidays. As much as you tried to arrange and rearrange your agenda and shooting schedule, there was no way you could possibly make it home and back to the set in such short period of time. This year your family would have you spend the holidays without you.
“So… Are you going home for the holidays?” Chris asked as you walked back to your trailer for a coffee break.
“I don’t think so, no.” You replied absentmindedly.
“What, why?” He asked quite shocked, as he held your trailer’s door open for you.
You had already come to terms with the fact that you were going to miss the holidays at home this year, but apparently that was an insane idea for him.
“It’s just… How long is the break? Three days for Christmas? And then another three days for New Years?” You asked bringing your focus towards him, while taking off your coat. “The trip is far to long. I won’t be able to enjoy it as much cause I’ll be exhausted when I get there, and then I’ll be exhausted when I get back. I just… I guess I’ll just have to wait until we’re done shooting to pay them a proper visit.” You explained and he seemed to be more saddened than you were about the situation.
“So who are you spending them with then?” He asked taking a seat on your small dining area.
“Just like Eric Carmen I guess.” You shrugged gathering everything you needed to make your coffees, but Chris sat there not fully comprehending what you meant. “All by my seeelf…” You sang jokingly and he rolled his eyes with a smirk.
Thinking you had made your point and that he’d drop the subject, you focused back on the coffees you were making. But boy were you wrong. Chris stood up and walked towards you. Pressing both elbows on top of the trailer’s counter he stared at you intensely.
“What?” You asked noticing how he had been staring without saying a word.
“Why don’t you spend the holidays with us?” He said.
“Are you insane?” Was the first thing that came out of your mouth. Chris looked at you with one eyebrow raised. “I didn’t mean it like that.” You explained throwing your head back. “I wouldn’t want to impose.” You said. “It’s fine Chris, really. I’ll be alright.”
“No, it’s not fine.” He replied straightening his posture. “And you’re not imposing. I’m inviting. C’mon, come to Boston with me. No one should spend the holidays alone.” Chris told you leaning his body against the counter and looking at you. “Plus, you already know Scott and he’s probably the only one you should worry about.” He pointed out seeing the doubt in your eyes and trying to convince you.
“That’s a very kind offer Chris and I really appreciate it, but I can’t…” You replied.
“Please…” He said, trying to use his baby blues to persuade you.
“Chris…” You warned, pointing your spoon towards him.
“I’m begging you.” He said. “You want me to get on my knees? Cause I will.” He added kneeling on the ground right beside you. Placing your hands on your hips you smiled at how ridiculous he was being.
"I dub thee knight; rise Sir Christopher of the Persuaders." You joked knighting him with your little spoon, making him laugh.
“Y/N.”
“Fine, I’ll go. God!” You said, finally giving in.
“Hmm. Looks like I’m Sir Chris of the Persuaders after all.” Chris said looking at you out of the corner of his eye while taking a sip from his mug.
“Any hotel recommendations?” You asked walking towards the table, your mug in one hand and a plate filled with cookies on the other.
“What for?” He questioned following you suit. “You’re staying at my place.” Chris pointed out.
“I already agreed to go with you. Don’t push it mister.” You told him.
“You know? Now that I think of it, I’m not sure there’re any hotels in Boston.” He said, pretending to think while eating one of the cookies.
“Oh really?” You questioned him with narrowed eyes.
“Yup. Ah no, wait. I know one.” Chris assured remembering something.
“It’s your place, isn’t it?” You asked raising one eyebrow at him.
“Not at all, this one is called ‘Dodger’s Palace’.” He explained taking a sip of his coffee. “I heard some really good reviews about it.”
“I see. I’m not gonna change your mind will I?” You questioned wrinkling your nose.
“Nope.” Chris said fervently shaking his head. “After all you’re not Dame of the Persuaders.”
“I can always knight myself.” You told him cleaning your spoon with a napkin, ready to do yourself the same thing you had previously done to him.
“That’s not how knighting works.” He complained, stopping your hand midair, bringing it back to the table and holding it still.
“Oh because you knighting was very legitimate.” You commented rolling your eyes at him.
“Mhm.” He nodded lifting the steaming mug with his free hand and bringing it to his lips.
