The moment you and Chris met, you both knew you were screwed. It was Scott who introduced the two of you at one of his famous birthday parties. You spent that night talking about anything and everything, and the next thing you knew, you were invited to Game Night at Chris’.
-Time for some Heads Up! -Scott said taking his phone out of his pocket.-Let’s pair up some people… -He added pretending to be deep in thought.
Scott’s plan to bring you together had worked perfectly, and now Chris and you were both playing for the same team.
- Do you even know how a phone works? -You jokingly asked Chris.
- I’m not that old. -He answered narrowing his eyes.
-Well, you’re not that young either. – You said repeating his actions, letting out a chuckle making him smile.
Your turn was next and, being as competitive as you were, you were both more than ready. He decided to go first and placing his phone over his forehead the time started to run.
- Don't say it!- He yelled as you exasperatedly tried to explain the last word to him. -I got this!
-C’mon Evans you can do this!- You told him trying to get him to focus. – It’s like a hat for food containers and stuff…
-A… lid? -He questioned.
-Yes!- You yelled in victory. -Finally!
Putting the phone down, he moved back next to you smiling.
-Seriously? A hat for food containers?- He laughed, making fun of your word selection.
-Well you got it, didn’t you?- You pointed out raising your hands.- I mean you’ve got to admit we make a great team.
-That’s right, but...- He said, calming his laughter. - I think you owe me an apology.- He said, raising one eyebrow.
-You are right. -You agreed. – I’m sorry.
-No,no. -He said shaking his head.-Maybe over dinner sometime?
-Sure. -You answered. – I guess I could make the sacrifice and go on a date with you.
-I never said date… -He pointed out smirking.
-Oh, but you wanted to.- You said confidently, winking.– I know you did.
