Night shifts on set were the worst. Not because they were bas themselves, but because after working the whole day you were only given a three-hour break to rest before having to resume shooting what was left of the night. Thank goodness make up artists existed because otherwise you’d look terrible all the time.
So here you were now. Your three-hour break had started about fifteen minutes ago, and you were now in your trailer. Watching the rain fall through your back window for the past five minutes as you waited for the water in your kettle to get warm enough to make yourself some tea. Tea was always the best option for you when it came to trying to fall asleep quick. And that was what you needed at the moment, a power nap. But that all was interrupted when you heard a few knocks at your door.
“I’m coming.” You said rushing towards the door, knowing whoever was outside was getting soaked. “Henry?” You asked surprised to find him standing there under the pouring rain. “Come in, come in.” You told him, taking a step to the side to let him in. “What happened?” You questioned looking at his drenched self from head to toe.
“I got locked out of my trailer.” He replied pulling his t-shirt apart from his body.
“How?” You laughed.
“Well, apparently I forgot my keys inside the last time I got out.” He explained. “Did you know that the handyman takes a break from 8-12 PM? Cause I do now. Better get locked out during working hours.” He joked.
“Or never…” You chuckled. “Here.” You said handing him a towel. “I’d offer you a change of clothes but, I’m afraid they might not fit you.” You joked, making him chuckle and shake his head. “I was about to make myself a cup of tea, would you like some?” You offered. “Or maybe a beer?”
“Would you have a beer with me if I choose the beer?” He asked.
“Nope. I’m sticking with my tea.” You answered pouring some water on your cup. “But you can still have a beer if that’s what you want.” You told him.
“Nah, a nice cup of tea sounds perfect. I need the warmth.” He said, making you raise your eyebrows at the thought of other ways you could think of to keep him warm. Thankfully he couldn’t see your face from where he was standing. Otherwise you would’ve died from embarrassment.
“It might not be the kind of tea you’re used to,” You warned turning around with a pair of steaming cups, and walking towards him. “but it was made with lots of love.” You said with a light snort. Handing him one of the cups, you signaled for him to take a seat right beside you and he complied.
“It smells amazing.” He commented inhaling the scent coming from the mug, making you do the same. “Or maybe it just you.” He added, a smug smile plastered on his face as he turned to look at you.
“You’re such a flirt.” You said rolling your eyes at him. A small smile escaping your lips, but not his attention.
Ever since your agent told you that Henry and you would work together on this movie you were thrilled. You had always had a bit of a crush on him, and now you were given the chance to not only meet him, but also work along with the man.
To your surprise you became friends almost instantly. Clicking since the very moment the casting director introduced you to one another. He was everything you had ever imagined and more.
With both your personalities matching perfectly, you became the hot topic on set. Your balanced mix of both flirtation and bickering having everyone at the edge of their seats waiting for the next thing to happen. Some people were even placing bets on whether you’d be dating by the end of the production or not. When you found out about this, Henry and you decided it’d be fun to play pretend in front of them just to drive them crazy.
You would walk hand in hand around set. He would often wrap his arms around you. You’d playfully slap his butt whenever you had a chance to. He’d kiss your forehead in return. You’d train, eat or nap together just to make the people on set go wild.
At some point along the way your feelings for Henry started to grow to something more than a crush. Pretending just getting easier and easier as you got accustomed to his touch. To his chivalry. It all felt so real. And maybe if you weren’t so busy trying to hide your feelings for your costar you would’ve noticed you weren’t the only one.“What?” You asked noticing how he was staring at you with a goofy smile on his face.
“Nothing, just watching.” He replied placing his mug on the table.
“Watching what?” You questioned nervously chuckling, doing the same thing with yours.
“You.” Henry said staring longingly into your eyes.
“Is there something in my face?” You asked touching it with both hands. He shook his head chuckling lightly.
“Only the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.” He replied, turning his torso so that it faced you.
“Urgh, Henry!” You groaned biting you bottom lip.
“What?” He asked this time. “I’m being serious. I don’t want to pretend anymore.” He said placing a hand under your chin and using it to bring his face closer to yours.
“You don’t?” You whispered without be8ng able to take your eyes off of his lips.
“Do you?” He mumbled getting impossibly closer. Your faces so close that his fresh breath caressed your moist lips.
“No.” You replied breathlessly, as your heart beat erratically inside your chest.
“Great.” He whispered before slowly leaning in, closing the distance.
Placing your hand on his chest for support, you noticed his heart beating the same way yours did. This giving you the confidence to grab his shirt and pull him even closer deepening the kiss. A grunt escaping his throat as he smiled into your lips. Your arms wrapped around his neck and his moved straight to you waist bringing you closer.
Pulling away for air you just looked at each other. Lips swollen, cheeks red, hair disheveled. A chuckle escaped your lips at the sight of the man in front of you. He just grinned, moving a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Damn.” Was all he managed to say making you laugh. Damn indeed.
