You slipped onto the floor just a few seconds of walking into the building where Kageyama lives. Just when you were standing up while also glancing around to see how many people saw your embarrassing moment, the Janitor put the sign that says "the floor is wet".
He put it right after you slipped.
You stared at the man in disbelief while he avoided your gaze until he walked away. It was obvious how guilty he was for slacking off.
But instead of letting your anger out, you tried to calm yourself instead by breathing in and out. It wasn't good to let your emotions get the best of you if you're coming to your friend's house. Not when you're coming to him because you wanted to see him to relax—especially right after you found out this morning that your ex-boyfriend had gotten himself a girlfriend, and it's your one and only girl bestfriend since elementary.
Well it's your ex-bestfriend now.
However, after you brushed your clothes down, you noticed that the white box you were carrying was faced upside down on the floor. You hurriedly picked it up and panicked as you tried to open it to see if Kageyama's favorite cake was fine—only it wasn't.
The frosting was sticking to all sides of the box and the cake looked horrible. It looked like you picked it up from a garbage dump and decided to give it to your enemy. Or maybe you were just being dramatic and it looked like how it came to be: perfectly fine at first then smushed in the box when it fell.
Anyway, you were in a bad mood now. You had considered the cake as a offering to Kageyama in case you start drinking in his place and cause him minor inconvenience. Well you know it's not enough considering how messy you are, but Kageyama said you didn't need to give him anything at all (since he's already rich enough to buy almost all the things he wants).
Your feet dragged you in front of a metal trash bin, and your hand hovered above it with the white box that had the cake inside. While staring at it for a few seconds, you decided to still give it to Kageyama. You made it after all—and knowing him, he won't mind its appearance.
Everything had turned upside down. One of your bestfriends betrayed you after your ex-boyfriend dumped you without giving you a proper reason as to why he did it.
Prior to the breakup, you already felt that something was off between him and your friend. But you thought it was just you, being paranoid because you've already been cheated off twice by your former boyfriends, that's why you dismissed your thoughts. You tried to think that everything was still okay, but he suddenly broke up with you one day.
Actually, you wanted to accuse him of cheating with your bestfriend after you heard the news this morning; but what's the use when you two broke up 2 months ago and haven't talked since. Moreover, you didn't have any proof to back up your claims.
You timidly tapped the doorbell to Kageyama's, your face crumpled up as a result of thinking about how your "bestfriend" suddenly cut ties with you after claiming this morning of what she had done. That's why a darkened expression greeted Kageyama when he opened the door.
"Y/N?" His low voice made you look at his face in response. And it slowly softened as you stared at Kageyama's freshly showered appearance. He even has a small towel hanged around his neck.
You aggressively handed him the box and then proceeded to walk into his apartment without saying anything. While you were walking towards his living room sofa, Kageyama looked at your back meaningfully. His eyes were saying as if he knew why you went to him; not that he mind though.
