"I genuinely cannot understand how you can stare at such a thing for such a long time." Shivers trailed up and down my spine. My head snapped around with my body as soon as I felt a warm exhale on my nape. The corners of my eyes stretch as they widen. I harshly bump myself back into the door after spinning my whole body around, hands scrambling through my hair.

"Get..away from me." I was out of breath and she was too close to my liking. My shivering body flips out of control and I spring upwards. "Whatever's in here- let it go!" I continuously poke at the door with my thumb.

All she does is narrow her eyes til they get thinner and thinner until she can't see anymore. She blinks once and exhales, "He doesn't deserve to be freed; he's a bad boy." My jaw drops at her sentence.

"He- you have a boy in there?! What'd he even do to you for you to lock him up like a prisoner?!" I shove her angrily. Her eyes open widely and she huffs out of her nose.

"He lived in my house." She sternly spoke. "If that's not a bad enough reason then keep your thoughts to yourself-" Veins were beginning to pop up in random places on her neck and temple.

"You are sick. I'm calling the police and I'm taking my brother home-" Her hand met with my neck, sturdily wrapping her entire hand around my neck effortlessly.

"I don't understand what all the fuss is about. He's around your age, I feed him and supply him with new blanks every week." Every time she finished a sentence her grip tightened around my neck until the uncomfortable sensation of not being able to properly breathe ran through my bones like electricity. "He'll live." Her last words stung me like venom.
