The time was ten o'clock, just one hour away from eleven. The lights were back on and everything was still in tact, it was the neighborhood they remembered. The twins settled down for the first time in hours. They were finally able to breathe without worrying about whether some wackjob heard them.
But at the very least, they had each other now, there was no more hesitation to breathe or hesitation at all, everything was at ease. Osamu laughed in his chair, tucking back the growing strands of hair behind his ear. He laughed so loud it made Atsumu laugh— it was a comfortable sound. "Jeez, what's so funny?" Their mothers voice made their hearts soften and their faces lighten up.
The snickers and laughs paused as the two boys practically threw themselves at their real mother. Her breath was forced out of her when her two sons wrapped themselves around her eagerly. All three of them were reunited, but only two of them were deeply longing for the other's presence.
There were a series of knocks on the door that made the twins tense up. Atsumu pulled away from his mother's embrace to open the door. "It's you again!" The blonde boy stepped away from the door frame and closed the door behind him, his hands instinctively retracting back into his sweater.
The boy kept to himself, mumbling every now and then and fixing his hair. "I wanted to thank you for helping me." At last, the boy spoke, the warmest joy opened up in Atsumu's heart.
"No need to thank me! You deserved a happy ending too. Speaking of happy endings— you should come over with whoever you're living with, I promise you my mom's friendly." Silent tears began to roll down the pale boy's cheeks.
The warmth that was swimming around in Atsumu's heart was then gone within a matter of seconds. His grin faltered, "You don't have a place to stay do you?" There was silence between them, enough discomfort and tensity to make both boys weep. "Come here."
Atsumu discarded the boy's usual squirming and the current squirming and led him inside. He softly closed the door behind them and turned the lock. "You'll stay with us, I'll make sure of it. No more sleeping in snow castles or igloo's." He led him around the house bossily. As the two walked 'round the house in search of the other two family members, Atsumu maintained conversation.
"What's your name, buddy." The younger boy rolled his eyes at his new nickname. Sakusa Kiyoomi the boy mumbled, withdrawing his hand from the boy's palm."I'll call you Kiki! I'm Atsumu, think of me as the coolest friend you have. That other guy, he's my twin, his name's Osamu. Stay away from him, he isn't very cool." He chuckled.
And the warmth was back again— this time for the both of them.
