i abruptly woke up to the sound of my dog barking. "bailey be quiet." i groaned into my pillow. i closed my eyes and tried to fall back asleep but i wasn't able to. i grabbed my phone and saw the time was 1:35 pm and i had a text from my best friend, karl. well it was actually more like a few texts.

i put my phone down and pulled myself out of my bed, careful of the floor knowing my dog was somewhere down there. i stepped over the dirty clothes and an air pod that my friend had been missing for a past few days as i made my way down to the kitchen.

"look who's awake." my dad said while walking in the house.

"yeah i am." i said while grabbing a bowl to put cereal in.

"streaming tonight?" my dad asked.

"maybe i don't know yet, i probably should."

"okay well let me know." he said smiling.

i smiled back. it was pretty much just my dad and i. my mom used to be around but she has a new family now, i don't keep contact a lot. i also have an older brother but we don't see him a lot since he's in college. i could be in college or university right now, but i've been busy with twitch. i still want to do something with my life but this is my priority at the moment.

ding! i jerked my head towards my phone and reached for it.
