it was 9. i was waiting on my call from alex. nothing yet. he texted me earlier saying he was going to be a bit busy tonight but he was going to text me if he wasn't going to call me on time. i shouldn't be this worried, yet i am.

i sighed and picked up the phone.

"aloe vera." he said while moving his hair out of his face.

"quackity." i said back.

"you're so beautiful." he said. i smiled. "god your smile is perfect.".

"fuck off." i said while hiding my face.

"nooo put your pretty face back on the camera." he said while fake pouting.

we continued talking, he sobered up a bit.

"vera can i tell you something?" he asked me.

i'm scared where is this is going.

"can it wait until you're fully sober?"

"i won't have the confidence to say it when i'm sober."

i think i know where this is going. the butterflies in my stomach were going crazy.

"go ahead." i said hesitantly.
