Just a few things before we get into it
This book is going to be a lot darker than the first one. It's gonna deal with a lot of depression and subjects related to that... I mean... obviously. Crypto thinks the reader is dead so naturally it's gonna deal with depression. Most of the story will be from Crypto's POV as well.
Don't worry, though, everything will work out in the end.
In fact, once he finds the reader again the depression will completely disappear! (Not really, but he's gonna very happy. You'll see why.)
If you don't understand the title, novocaine (procaine) is a drug that is used to stop a part of your body from feeling pain. Dentists mostly use it, but we don't talk about them here. Everyone has good dental health as far as I'm concerned. It's just in relation to how the characters are actually trying to not be in emotional pain and will try basically anything to stop feeling that pain. Essentially, Crypto and the Reader are each other's novocaine.
I'm also gonna add some lyrics to each chapter. You don't have to listen to the songs, most of them will be from PTV or BMTH (mostly metal or screamo bands tbh. Can't see pop songs fitting into any of this) and I'm not sure if any of you guys actually listen to that... high school girls have a different music taste now than high school girls did when I was there... we were all emo lol. Feels bad.
Some songs might not be 100% accurate to the chapters, that's why I only took lyrics from them and didn't link the whole song.
Also, I won't be using art from zombiemakeoutclub anymore. I still love their work, but I've used all of it and can't wait for a new work to come out before I post a chapter update. I'll be using art from mixed sources. Not sure what cover art theme to follow with this story. It'll update along the way.
