Quick note. Chapter includes mentions of Marie Antoinette Syndrome which hasn't exactly been backed up all too well by science. So it's still mostly just a tall tale despite two historical figures having experienced this. Marie Antoinette herself being one, obviously. So, apparently, a few days before her execution her hair suddenly turned white. Some other guy had the same experience, therefore the main theory is that trauma or sudden stress makes your hair turn white (there's a lot of math and shit involved and I'm not adding that here, but it's pretty interesting so make sure to read up on it if you want). I wanted to add that in here because, well, it makes things a little more interesting.

Crypto's POV

It's been a whole season and a few days before the new Legend will join us. Everyone's excited to see who it will be, but I couldn't care less.

During that time I've spent most of my days learning how to take care of MinJoon. While I'm out the workers in the Dorms would take care of him. We didn't need to use the dropship as much since we were already on Olympus, but when we did use it I'd have MinJoon come with and bring one of the workers along.

After matches, Doctor Somers would answer any questions I'd have and show me how to handle certain situations. Being a parent got a little easier. And seeing my son grow and learn new things almost made me forget about everything that was going on.

Elliott and I still had our occasional hookups. On those nights, Natalie or Doctor Somers would keep MinJoon with them. I'd use the excuse that we'd be working late and I didn't want Min to be disturbed. Renee started suspecting something was going on between us... and she actually caught us in the act.

It was rather embarrassing. She said that she knew something was going on and had to see for herself to confirm.

Renee is the only one who knows. And she insists that something is going on between us that isn't related to sex.

She often needs to remind us before matches that we shouldn't get too friendly if we're on a team. We tended to act like a couple sometimes, not only exchanging snarky comments about each other, but also lightly flirting every now and then.

Some of the other Legends, Natalie included, started thinking we just had a fling, no one else knew about our little arrangement other than Renee.

All of that happened in four months, and I won't deny that I've started to feel something for Elliott.

I sit in front of my computer trying to find information on the new Legend, but there's nothing. The Syndicate has apparently decided to surprise us. That's all right. They'll be here in a few hours.

"Tae! The new Legend is here! You wanna come see them?" Elliott bursts into my room, making MinJoon and me jump. Min starts laughing whereas I'm glaring at Elliott, completely unamused. "Will you ever learn how to knock?"

Seems like the new Legend decided to show up early.

He shakes his head and walks towards me, picking me up out of my chair and carrying me into the hall before putting me down. "C'mon! I wanna meet them."

I sigh and look back at Min who seems unbothered as he's coloring... or scribbling random colors onto his coloring page. He'll be fine.

Elliott takes my hand and looks at me. "Is this okay?" He asks for confirmation before he walks to the common room. I think for a moment then nod. There's no hiding it anymore. Everyone already thinks we're romantically involved.
