"Hey. Are you waking up today?" Daos voice woke me. He sat next to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
I opened my eyes, seeing his black and white figure. I sat up tiredly. "Didn't I tell you to go away?"
"I....well... Breakfast...and uhh" he nervously mumbled.
I smiled at his sudden drop in confidence then got up. "Ok. Get out. I'll be down-" I bumped my ribs making me fall down in pain.
"Ah," Dao called and kneeled in front of me.
"I said get out." I said quietly.
"But-
"Get out!" I yelled and shoved at him. He fell backwards and looked at me hurt. I pointed at the door angirly.
"But..." he looked at me confused and shyly stood up, walking out the door.
I held my ribs for a while then stood up. After showering and dressing I walked downstairs. Dao sat at the counter sadly, staring at the food. I felt bad for yelling at him but at the same time I knew I couldn't get close to someone who'll take everything from me and leave.
"Here" Dao pushed a plate towards me with a smile.
I ate silently then layed my head on the counter. "I'm bored." I stated and walked to my room. After grabbing my sketchbook I walked to the platform. Silently I began sketching.
"Ae Si. Dao Ming said you'd be here. Do you need anything?" A familiar voice asked. I turned to find Jeon coming up the ladder. He sat by me with a smile.
"Hi. Why would I need anything." I questioned.
Jeon looked at my sketchbook then back at me. "Your always in your sketchbook when somethings bothering you."
I took a deep breath and closed my sketchbook. I set it aside then layed my head on his shoulder. "I don't want to like him," I admitted.
"But you do?" He asked.
"I do. And I don't want to. I want him gone." I scoffed.
Jeon gently rubbed my shoulder like the father figure he was to me. "Dao likes you. You dont like him. I can't tell you what to do all I can tell you is to do what you think is right."
I rolled onto my back and looked at him. "Did you have fun at work?"
"A blast. They called me in because they couldnt stop the water. The entire place was flooded." He laughed and rolled his eyes.
I smiled and stared at the sky.
"Dao left. Are you ready to go back" Jeon asked hopefully.
I sat up slowly. "Fine."
We headed back to the house talking about the previous day. When I went to bed I had my mind made up. I would stop talking to Dao completely. And I did. Day after day passed and the only word I had muttered was 'shut up' days turned weeks. Weeks turned to months and that month turned into 2 with only the occasional pushing others away from him before they hit him.
"Dao Ming." A boy called as we left the classroom for lunch.
I turned, silently to the scene, forcing myself not to help.
"Leave me alone." Dao mumbled.
The boy shoved Dao to the wall like always. "Haven't I told you to stop talking to me like that?" He asked mockingly, holding his hands around his neck.
Dao pushed the boy back and grabbed his stuff. "I told you just leave me alone." He said angirly.
The boy stood up shoving Dao to the wall roughly then hitting him. "You have guts" he said through gritted teeth.
