After the night we were discharged from the hospital, Dao has been really close. It's been a month. Sometimes it surprises me just how much I need him and how thankful I am for that one day that I punched that student.
"Baby," Dao called.
It was are graduation day. We were all dressed in our gowns, ready to take put diploma. "Hi babe," I caught his hands and leaned in for a kiss.
He kissed me quickly then pulled away. "R-Ryan," he pointed behind him.
I laughed at Daos nervousness. We never told anyone about our relationship, but we didn't hide it either. "Hi Ry." I held my hands out, waiting for a hug.
Ryan let Tayos hand go and excitedly hugged me. "We did it."
Tayo hugged me next and grabbed my face. "You look so beautiful. Why couldn't I have you?" He joked.
Dao pulled me closer, jealous. Ryan grabbed Tayos arm and glared at him. "Relax," Tayo kissed him. "It was a compliment."
Dao and I looked at each other smiling. "When did this happen?" I asked.
Ryan glared at Tayo again. "Oh come on. It's the last day any of these people will even see us. Everything they have done, everything they think, that won't matter tomorrow. Besides. There's nothing wrong with this." Tayo smiled.
Ryan kissed Tayo, longer this time. People began cheering and Ryan looked up to see the crowd of people cheering them on. We laughed and formed a line, holding each others hands. "Years." Ryan answered.
"Hey. I have something to say after this. Let's meet at the doors." I suggested.
They nodded and we found our place in line. Hours passed as we got our names called. Finally we all gathered by the doors.
"What is it?" Dao asked.
I nervously stared at my feet. "I'm pregnant."
There was silence. I looked at Dao, terrified he was upset. "Me?" He asked pointing at himself.
I nodded. Dao happily picked me up and ran around a little. "Fuck." He kissed me. "Baby I'm really happy." He hugged me.
I held him tightly then looked up. So Gyu stood behind us with a sad gaze. "Uhm Dao." I called.
He set me down. "Yeah-" he saw So Gyu and pulled me into him.
"Ae Si. Can we talk?" So Gyu asked.
I looked at Dao then back at So Gyu. "Ok." We walked away a little.
So Gyu waved someone over. Han, and a few of the people that had hurt me stood around So Gyu. I held my hand up to Dao so he wouldn't panic. "Ae Si, I was jealous. I wanted Dao. I really wanted Dao-
"I don't care-
"Hear me out. I made a mistake." She took a deep breath. "I hired these guys to hurt you. I wanted them to scare you out of being with Dao and I'm really. . . Really sorry. I never should have hurt you. Dao chose you, and I'm happy that you're happy." She smiled, tears froming in her eyes.
"You sent people to kill me-
"I didn't. I wanted them to scare you. I didn't know you'd fight back. And I shouldn't have even done that. I should've accepted that you were. . . Daos type. You're so beautiful and almost flawless Ae Si. I didn't even know you were colorblind until that kid started picking on you. I just didn't want to leave knowing that I hurt you and you. . ." She shrugged.
I looked at Han. "So Gyu. I'm going to forgive you. You're pretty cool. You have guts admitting that." I shrugged.
So Gyu smiled and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back gently, patting her back. "Come with me," she pulled me then paused. "Can I tell people that you're pregnant?"
I nodded confused.
She continued pulling me onto the stage and grabbed the microphone. "Attention students." She called. She had given the speech earlier so people were used to her being on stage. Once people payed attention So Gyu looked at me and smiled. "My best friend is pregnant!" She cheered.
The entire school cheered and I looked at Dao who followed us. He smiled and ran to my side. So Gyu and Dao pulled my hands into the air. He kissed me then let me go.
"Hey. Let's go out for dinner. It's on me." So Gyu offered.
"I'm down." Ryan joked.
I looked at So Gyu and laughed. "It's a package deal when it comes to us 4," I shrugged.
So Gyu laughed and took Ryans hand. "Oh yeah. Congrats," she patted Daos arm."
We gathered our yearbooks after everyone signed them. I stared at mine for a while. I always got bad notes. Dao pulled the book from my hands. "Gigi," he read. "Congrats bestie. Pregnant and still beautiful," he smiled. "Yuan. Hope to see you again. Thanks for giving me the best high school graduation. Dian. Sorry for being an ass. You're actually pretty cool. . ."
"Alright. That's enough," I laughed pulling my yesrbook back and reading the surprisingly kind comments.
Dao put his arm around my neck as we walked. "This is gonna be a great year," he smirked.
