Room B12

Elly

I woke up from my sleep in a sweat. Buzzzzz, Buzzzz. "What was that noise?" Buzz, Buzz, is it my phone? Roby cheked his phone. Its from Tedy. The message read that the baby was on its way and to get down to the hospital. I grabbed my keys to the car and ran outside.

Once I got to the hospital I went inside "mam can you tell me where Tedy May is?"
"What's your relationship to the patient?"
"She's my sister." I snapped.
"Thro those doors room 13." She said seeming rather fed up.

I ran down the hall. Room 13. Room 13! Found it! I walked inside to find a new born baby, "Her name is Elly." Tedy said.

"Elly, it's perfect." I said taking another step into the room. I was almost afraid to get to close.
But yet not close enough. The little one in my sisters arms looked so small and fragile. Swallowed up in a small blanket.

The thought of just looking at her the wrong way would cause the little one to fuss, was to much to bare.

As I walked closer to my sisters bed to get a better view of my new born neice. As I saw little Ellys face for the first time my heart seemed to almost ache from the amount of love that was being shoved into it at once.
"Come here, you hold her." Tedy said handing me Elly. I hesitated at first.

I don't wanna risk dropping her or cause her to fuss.
But she didn't. Instead little Elly opened her big blue eyes and just looked at me. She had a little smile playing on her rose colored lips.

She's so small and yet means so much to me already. "I will always protect you Ell." I promised her right then and there. No matter what may come she is at the top of my list now.
I end up holding Ell for the better part of two hours straight. I just couldn't put her down. First day on earth and she's already got me wrapped around her little finger.
