I Know This Boy

"Okay now I was told that you went to court today over your fathers case. What happened with that?" she asked. "Well it was nerveracking at first. I was so scared. Um, then a lady by the name of Castrida was called to the stand. It was none other then my mother." I said and the crowd ahhed in suprise.

"Your mother?" She asked. "Ya, she had left to go take care of my little brother. It was crazy werid. But when the judge announced that my father was given 10 more years in prison. It made me so happy. I then ran over to my mother mad at her for leaving and there was this boy there with her.

His name was Roby Roberts. Hes my brother." I said and I waved him out and he came out. "You must be Roby." "Yes." Roby said and sat down right beside me. "So how does it feel having a sister? Let alone a famous one." Gina asked. "Odd but im happy. I always thought there was a piece of my family missing and I just found it." Roby said.

That melted my heart. The crowd awed. "That is so sweet. So is this going to change your life at all? How do feel about your sister being famous?" Gina asked. "I feel as if having my sister in my life it will change for the better. As for her being famous. If that makes her happy then so be it." Roby said looking at me.

"Im so glad to have you in my life now." Roby said to me. "That is so sweet. Well thats all the time we have for today. Thank you so much." Gina said. The cameras then went off. I walked off the stage right by Roby. "I better get home now. Moms gonna be upset but I have to face the music." Roby said.

"Let me go with you. I need to talk to her anyways. Roby then took us to his house. It was a small apartment about 10 minute walk down the road from my apartment. We got to the apartment and Roby walked in. Me and Wedgie right after him. "Mum someones here to see you." Roby said and got to chairs for the kitchen table out.

There was a man and a boy about Robys age and our mother already at the table. We sat down. "Tedy. Im sorry." Our mother said. "Sorry. Youve had 5 years. You left me out of the blue with your abusive boyfriend, no awncers, no phone call, not even a picture. You just left. I went without food and water at home for weeks at a time.

I would take home my school lunch so dad could have something to eat. Where were you when I was starving? Where were you when I had nothing to drink? Where were you when I was being hit around?" I asked. "You know where I was. Im sorry I left but you cant hold that against me." She said. I balled my fist at my sides.

"Yes. Yes I can. Cause you left me! You didnt bother to do anything! You gave up and you left!" I yelled. She stayed quiet. "Now. Lets talk about Roby." I said. "What about him?" "Ya what about me?" Roby asked. "You wanna makeup for what you did mother?" I asked. "Yes. Ill do anything." She said.

"Roby is welcome over to my house all the time 24/7. He doesnt want to be here then he doesnt have to be. Ill let the people at the gate know he is always welcomed. If you dare try to stop him ill take him. Ive got more money, ive got a great job, and I love him to death, I dont have a history of being in jail. Im clean.

So who do you think theyll chose? Your house is a mess and you giz dont got shit for food here. Theres a rotting apple on the counter and theres 3 bags of trash by the door. This house reaks. So. He can come and go and stay for as long as he like or I will take him and you will lose everything." I said.

"Okay." She said. "Wait..." The man went to go say. "Just stop. Ive hurt her. This is her way. Let it go. She just wants him happy and healthy." She said. "I messaged my manager on our way shes on her way with gardianship papers. I will be his gardian. You will sign him over. In return ill give you money." I said.

"Deal." She said. Wedgie grabbed my hand. "Hold it. He aint going any where." The man said. "Whos gonna stop me?" I asked him. "Roby go to your room. I be back there in a minute." The man said. I stayed silent. The man got up and went to Roby room. The next thing I know I hear a crash.

I get up and run down the hall and hit the door constanly. Wedgie then came and broke the door after it continues. "Roby!" I yell. I get in and I see broken glass on the ground and Roby has a bloody lip and the man has blood on his fist.

"You sick animal!" I yell at the man and he punches me. I hit the ground. I feel a piece of glass in my leg. "No!" I hear Wedgie yell and the next thing I know the man is showed against the wall. "Dont you ever touch them again!" Wedgie yells. I get up. Just then there a knock on the door.

I run to get it. Its my assistant with the papers. "Sign them!" I yell at my mother. She signs them quickly. "Roby leave all your stuff. Well go get you new stuff tomorrow." I say and we go to leave. "What about the money?" She asked. "No. You just lost everything Castrida. Hes been being hit around to. You sure do know how to pick them.

Goodbye Castrida." I said and were about to walk out the door. "One more thing dear mother." I said turning around to look at her. I then pulled the locket from my neck. She had left it behind and it was a gift from her father. I then tossed it at her. "Im done with holding on and im done with you." I said and we turned around and left. I didnt even bother to look back.

When we got home Wedgie removes the glass from my leg it wasnt to deep luckly. "Im sorry." I said to Wedgie. "For what?" He asked. "For takeing him in without even asking you." I said. "Its fine. We'll figure this out one way or another. He is only 16 he needs somebody and im happy we can be those somebodys." Wedgie said and my heart swelled.

We then walked out and went to the living room to talk to Roby. "Im really sorry Roby. I know you must not have wanted that." I said. "You giz are giving me a second chance." Roby said. "Where trying. You dont have to talk about it. You dont have to go to school for now. If need be well hire a private tutor." I said.

"No its fine. I need to go to school." Roby said and it made me so happy. "Okay. Just be careful Roby. Im so glad to have you in my life. Now its been a very very very long day. Theres a guest bedroom down the hall second one on your right that is now all yours.The first door is the bathroom." I said and we left Roby be.
