One Mute Super

Prologue

On a hot summer night, a voice is heard "Come on M'lady! We belong together!" A girl runs faster as Chat Noir chases her from behind. The miracle box hugged tightly in her arms. Her backpack swinging back and forth as she runs. Her legs are burning and her breath is short but she can't stop. She quickly turns into an alleyway only for it to be a dead end. 'No!' She thinks she turns around only to come face to face with Chat Noir. He grabs her by the arms and pulls her close "See princess you belong to me". She notices his ring and uses a free hand to grab it. A blinding light catches Chat Noir off guard stunning him long enough for Marinette to break free. One of the Kwamis comes out of the box, Kaalki, she opens a portal right behind Marinette telling her telepathically. Marinette looks at the man she thought would always respect and love her, only to see a boy, Adrien Agreste. Seeing the portal behind her Adrien makes a move to try and grab her only to be seconds too late she jumps through, it closing after. "I will find you!" He yells punching the brick wall where his obsession once stood.

In Metropolis City on a warm sunny day, a portal opens up in the middle of the sky. People point not knowing what to expect, finally, a girl comes out and is falling through the sky. She doesn't make it far before she is caught by Superboy (Jon). He lands and places the girl on the ground. Immediately people surround her, she doesn't react positively because she suddenly yells out "ABRI!" (shelter in French, thanks Google) and a green shield covers her and her alone. People back up as the rest of the Superfamily come to see. "Superboy what happened?" Superman questions as he looks at the shaking and crying girl in the force field. "I was flying when suddenly a portal opens in the middle of the sky and this girl comes out. She was falling so I rescued her. People started surrounding us so she yelled something and this shield appeared." He explains still in kind of shock. Superman gets the police to get everyone away from the girl before he and his family do anything. "Can you take down the shield?" He asks. The girl shakes her head before putting down some sort of box, she opens her backpack and pulls out a piece of paper and pen before writing down "civilians are staring" Superman turns to the rest of his family "surround the shield" he barks before seeing the news cameras and using his laser vision to destroy it. The girl noticing no one can see her anymore and lets the shield down in a soft green light. She looks at Superman waiting for what he will say, he looks down at the girl before kneeling down and hugging her "you're safe now". She starts crying before burying herself in his chest. When she calmed down enough he lets go, "do you have anyone you can call or help you?" She shakes her head no. Superman sighs before "can you gather your stuff so I can take you to the police?" The girl freezes before "ABRI!" the shield is back up and pushes Superman away from her. He sighs "okay no police then?" She nods her head before writing down on the paper "police are no help, they will take me back home". He soon realizes that there is more going on than just a lost girl, "Superboy (Jon) call Robin and tell him and the other Bats we will be dropping by and bringing a guest, and tell them in suit." Superboy nods before flying off. "Can you release the shield so we can go somewhere more private?" The girl looks around before putting the paper and pen back in her bag, grabbing the strange box, and then finally letting down the shield. Superman picks up the girl before flying off towards Gotham followed by the rest of the supers leaving behind a confused crowd and a even more annoyed news teams who wanted a big scoop.

At the cave
The supers wait outside for a bit until the cave entrance opens and they all fly in. When they get the entire bat family is waiting in anticipation for what the emergency was. Superman steps forward and sets something down. The bat family realizes it is a girl, she's about 5'2, she's probably 16, she has on a pink backpack and holding a weird box. As they study her, she starts to shuffle uncomfortable, with the attention. Suddenly Red Hood says "Let me guess black hair, blue eyes, and a traumatic past?" The girl only nods. Nightwing suddenly squeals "New sister!" Before trying to hug the girl. "ABRI!" Nightwing face plants straight into a green force field. "Great the shield is back," Superboy (Kon) says "She's French," Robin says. Everyone turns to him including the girl, he continues "Abri is French for shelter, am I correct?" He asks the girl, she only nods, "Why won't you speak?" Spoiler asks, suddenly a red blur flies out of the shield quickly followed by a black blur "She can't" the red blur says, looking closer it looks like a big ladybug and the other one looks like a small cat. "What do you mean she can't? She talked to put up the shield" Batman asks as he watches the girl release the shield. "About 1 year before she came here she was strangled almost to death by her father, this messed up her vocal cords, the problem was she needed her voice to perform magic so we kwamis gifted her the ability to talk when performing spells. I would have healed her completely but there was too much damage." The red kwami finishes sadly at the end. The others nod and watch as the black kwami flies toward the girl "Are you alright pigtails?" She holds up her hand and shakes it in an iffy way. The red kwami speaks again "My name is Tikki, the other kwami is Plagg, and finally she is Marinette." Tikki begins to explain who Marinette is while she is distracted by Plagg. "Marinette is the Great Guardian of the Miraculous, miraculous are accessories used to transform into heroes. Each accessory has a kwami attached to it, and each kwami represents concepts and ideas my concept is creation, and Plagg's is destruction. Any questions?" She finishes, both the bat clan and the supers ask questions that Tikki answers. They come to know that Marinette was a superhero in Paris, when she asked for help someone from the Justice League told her she was a joke, she defeated HawkMoth about 6 months ago, she has no friends and her family abuses her, and her ex-partner tried to rape her before she used her portal to escape. Both the Bats and the Supers realizing the severity of the situation try to decide what to do. Finally, they both agree that she will be adopted legally by one of them, they turn to Marinette "who do you wish to be adopted by?" Superman asks Marinette to think for a bit before pulling out paper and a pen and writes down "Superman" both superboys cheer as Nightwing sulks about losing his quote on quote new baby sister. Together both the Supers and Bats create a backstory of how Marinette met Jon over a kids chat group and have been talking ever since. Eventually, Marinette told him what was happening at home when she lost her voice, he eventually told his father and Clark got Bruce involved to get the poor girl out of the situation. 3 hours later and all the conversations are made between both kids. Once down they both decided that sending Marinette home with Robin who will watch over her will be the best move to limit any more damage to her. "VOYAGE!" A blue portal opens and they both step through.

A week went by in Paris as Damian looked after Marinette. He got to know her and the kwamis. He started to teach her American Sign Language so she could communicate when she was finally taken from her abusive family. When the day for the court case came the Dupain-Chengs put up a fight to try a prove their actions were justified but came up empty-handed. Eventually, because of this, the school had to undergo an investigation, which they failed. Both of Marinette's parents ended up going to jail for child abuse and her old teacher and principal had their teaching license removed.

Now with Marinette moving in with the Kent's two new problems arises. Regaining her confidence as a human, and establishing her place as a hero once again, at least for now.
