Marinette sits in the backseat of her new family's car as she is being brought to her new home. Her brothers are sitting next to her and her parents in the front seat. "So Marinette are you excited to see your room?" Lois asks Marinette looks at Tikki and gives her her answer "She says she exited and can't wait, she also says thank you for giving me a new home" Marinette smiles as Tikki answers for her. "So how has learning ASL (American Sign Language) going?" Clark asks looking through the review mirror, Marinette signs "It's been good, very different from FSL, but easy to translate" "Well thanks good sweetie," Lois says before they turn into their driveway. The boys help Marinette with her stuff as Lois and Clark give her the tour. "And finally this is your room." In her room were both of her brothers setting up her stuff. She smiles as all of them meekly before signing "Thank you" everyone watches as she and the kwamis walk around the room. Her bed and was in the far right corner with a desk next to it. Her closet was opposite her desk and on her dresser was next to it with a dollhouse for the kwamis. Above it were shelves filled with tools for sewing. Next to her dresser was a mannequin. The middle of the room has a carpet and a massive beanbag. Her room was pastel-colored with variations of gray.
The Kents leave her to her room. The first thing she does is set up her sewing machine on her desk and release the kwamis from the miracle box. The moment she is done moving in Jon comes into her room knocking first. "Hey Mari, do you want to walk around the mall with me and Damian?" She thinks for a moment before nodding her head. "Alright come on, we're gonna go to the train station and head to Gotham!" He gently drags her out of her room as they head to the station. Once there they both sit down and for the next 30 minutes, Jon tells her all about Gotham and Metropolis. She smiles as he laughs and silently giggles as he tells some funny stories about Damian. Suddenly "It's rude not to respond young lady," an older voice says from behind them. Both Kents turn to see an older woman and man. The man is trying to stop the woman but is unsuccessful, she continues to rant about how the younger generation doesn't know how to communicate while simultaneously insulting Marinette. At this point, more people are watching in sympathy as the old woman tears into Marinette. Jon recovering from his shock and notices she is on the verge of tears and steps in "Ma'am my sister is mute and can't speak. I'd appreciate it if you'd leave her alone, she is very sensitive especially about this topic, and can't do anything about it." He says while staring the woman down, challenging her to say anything else but sorry. The people on the train are shocked to hear this and immediately start glaring at the woman. She stares in shock at the siblings before turning away from them and not talking the rest of the way there. Jon turns back to Marinette and continues to tell her funny stories in hopes to lighten her mood, he is mildly successful.
Once both kids are off the train they are greeted with Damian who was waiting there for them. The moment he sees Marinette he knows something had happened. Her eyes were red and once she is close enough latches onto him. He turns to Jon who only nods to the old woman watching them while mouthing "her fault," he nods before leading them both to the car. They pile into the backseat and greet Alfred before entering a peaceful quiet. Soon they reach the mall and Alfred drops them off at the front. Marinette latches onto Damian as they walk through the crowds Jon makes sure to distract her from the stares she is getting, mostly for touching Damian and not getting yelled at. They only head into small stores as Marinette didn't want to go to the bigger ones. Soon they had gone into about 5 stores before they were interrupted, they were heading into Charlotte Russe when suddenly "Dammmiii~". A screech is heard from the other side of the hall. One moment Marinette is safely holding onto Damian and the next she was pushed onto the ground by a light blue blur. She looks up to see a pretty brunette hugging the arm she was just holding. Soon harsh gray eyes are staring at her "Who are you?" Is rudely remarked.
Right as Marinette was going to sign her name in response the girl continues "well it doesn't matter you are unimportant, I don't know why Damian let a runt like you even near him but that doesn't matter anymore cause I'm here." Marinette is helped up by Jon as she continues her life story of why she is important. Damian finally has enough and removes himself from and stands next to the Kents. Marinette looks at him questioningly and he only nods, seeing this she latches herself back onto his arm. The still-unnamed girl sees this and looks repelled, "Dami why are you letting this...simpleton touch you?" Damian and Jon both glare at her, and Damian finally responds "One her name is Marinette, two she isn't a simpleton, and three there are only a hand few of people who get to call me by a nickname and you aren't one of them. And as for why she can touch me is non of your concern." While saying this he removes his arm from Marinette's hold and wraps it around her torso, pulling her closer. Marinette who was getting overwhelmed buries her head into his side. Throughout all of this, a crowd had formed and was very invested in Gotham's ice prince and the girl he is holding. The still-unnamed girl in blue was watching Marinette closely now seeing her and Damian's reactions to each other. "So does she talk? Or do you have to do it for her?" She remarks realizing Marinette hasn't said a word yet. This strikes a nerve in both boys as they glare heatedly at her, "My sister is mute, so back off before I make you,". Jon says, as Damian is holding Marinette he suddenly feels his shirt getting wet, he looks down and realizes that the girl attached to him was getting overwhelmed and started to cry. He turns to Jon before nodding down to Marinette, Jon looks at said girl before leading them all away from the crowd and to the restrooms. Once there they instruct Marinette to go in and clean herself up, saying that they'll be right outside. The boys wait on some chairs but don't pay attention to who comes in and out of the restroom as their backs were turned. The girl in blue slips in and sees Marinette washing her face in the sink. She stalks up to her "I just realized I never introduced myself I'm Jewel Summers and Damian's future girlfriend so back off before I make you." Is all she says before walking out. Hearing the door open for someone to leave Damian turns, hoping to see Marinette, only to see Jewel. He sees red and he storms up to her "What did you do?!" Seeing an angry Damian she shrinks back and stutters out "I.. I don't know what you are talking about," before rushing off. Damian turns to the restroom door, walks to it and knocks "Marinette are you okay?" He steps back right as the door opens and is attacked by a small figure. He hugs her close and leads her to Jon. Both boys look at each other and decide that this was enough excitement for today. Damian while still holding the shaking girl tells Alfred they are ready to leave. 15 minutes later and all three are in the car on the way to the manor to hopefully forget the incident of earlier.
Once there they all get out and head to the theater room to watch a movie of Marinette's choice, they watched Oliver and Company (A/N- on my top ten Disney must watches). Once the movie is over Alfred calls them for dinner, all three walk to the dining room and are greeted with the rest of the batboys throwing food at each other. At the same time, the three teens walk in so does Bruce just from the other door. He looks at his sons and to the three before sighing. All 4 sit down avoiding food as they go. Once the others notice them they stop throwing the food and eat properly, mostly out of respect for Marinette. Dinner goes smoothly with only mild disturbances from the brothers, until "Marinette has Clark told you about how you will be doing school?" Bruce asks she looks at him and signs "No, am I not going to school in Metropolis?" He shakes his head and continues "No, you and Jon will be taking the train every day to Gotham and going to Damian's school Gotham Academy. We both thought you'd like to be with someone you know besides Jon." Damian turns to Bruce "Father why was I not informed of this?" He only sighs "Because then you would make sure she was in all of your classes, she needs some independence to rebuild confidence." Damian looks at his father challengingly before turning to Marinette "Don't worry you'll be in all my classes," she silently laughs as Bruce starts a small argument with Damian about the situation. Soon dinner finishes and Alfred takes the three teens to the station, "Goodbye Jon, Marinette," said girl hugs him goodbye as Jon says "Bye Damian, see you later," before dragging Marinette onto the train.
