Chapter 9 - A romantic evening full of surprises

As the younger Todoroki and Yaoyorozu were heading out on their date, she couldn't help but recall what he said yesterday about wanting to talk to her about something.

'I wonder what he wants to talk about? But judging with all that has happened recently, it feels like it's going to be about our future selves' Yaoyorozu thought as she blushed at the idea. But decided to leave it for later and take his word and just enjoy herself.

Todoroki took her to an arcade first which Kaminari and Sero recommended since they said it would be nice to unwind and take things easy, considering everything that has happened recently.

"This looks fun!" Exclaimed Momo while looking at all the games

"And it seems there's not much people here either" Todoroki added while catching up to her

"Which one do you want to play first?" He asked Yaoyorozu, wanting to know which she would prefer

"Let's try all off them! I barely get to go to these kinds of places so I want to enjoy it to the fullest!" She said with an excited tone

They tried all sorts of games including car racing, air hockey, and the pool tables. And as they were enjoying the time together, Todoroki kept thinking to himself

'She looks so beautiful when she's smiling and enjoying herself like that.' Todoroki was happy that he could help her unwind from all the stress of hero work for the past week, as well as the sudden news of the future.

'I wonder what she would say when I tell her how I feel' He thought again while getting nervous with the idea but chose to pay it no thought and went back to enjoying the day.

As the day was going to an end they passed by the other sections of the arcade and Yaoyorozu saw a claw machine that had a very cute animal pillow that she really wanted to take home but after so many tries, she couldn't get it.

"Want me to try?" Asked Todoroki from behind, startling her for a moment

"N-no! It's fine we've already spent so money here let's just try another time!" Yaoyorozu said trying to hide her disappointment from not being able to get the prize from the machine

"Wait here for a bit I will just go freshen up" She said with a smile

"Sure, take your time." Replied Todoroki and as she left, he took a look at the claw machine that Yaoyorozu kept trying to play

As Yaoyorozu came back she saw that Todoroki had just put something in his bag but couldn't see in time what it was.

"What's that? You look like you're hiding something" She said, wondering what it was

"That's a secret." Todoroki replied with a smirk

After hearing that Yaoyorozu pouted and just chose not to pay it any more attention to which Todoroki just chuckled.

As it got to evening the two just finished eating dinner and were taking a walk around a nearby park when Yaoyorozu asked Todoroki a question that has been on her mind since yeaterday

"Todoroki-kun, what did you call me out here for today? It's been such a long time since I had fun like this, but I also remembered that you said you wanted to talk about something." Yaoyorozu said, trying to get an answer out of her date.

They took a seat on one of the benches and Todoroki explained

"I was wondering about the future, especially after finding out that we ended up together." He said with his face turning a bit red

"I also spoke to our future selves about it yesterday because I'll be honest right now... I'm not good when it comes to emotions but after spending this time with you, I'm certain that..."

"I like you Yaoyorozu." Todoroki said while facing Yaoyorozu who immediately turned red

"I know that it may seem sudden, and I don't know if you feel the same way, but I-."

"I like you too" Said Yaoyorozu, cutting off Todoroki before he could finish what he was about to say

"It feels embarrassing to admit it, but when our future selves said that they were getting engaged, I felt so happy and I felt like I would have a chance to be with you" She added while blushing furiously

"Yaoyorozu." Said Todoroki as he slowly cupped her face with his hands and came closer

"Todoroki-kun" She replied while looking into his eyes

He then moved in and kissed her on the lips, to which she reciprocated. Their lips clumsily crashed into each other indicating their inexperience, but nevertheless it felt like a whole new wave of sensation was washing over them.

Todoroki deepened the kiss by gently grabbing a hold of her waist and the back of her head, pulling her closer to him.

Yaoyorozu, on the other hand wrapped her arms around his neck and closed her eyes. Being this close to each other, she could catch a whiff of the cologne that he was wearing, which only made her savour the moment even more.

As they slowly separated from the kiss, there was nothing but quiet in between them for a few minutes while both of them were thinking of what to say to each other.

Then Todoroki broke the silence between them and asked:

"Does this mean we're...?" He asked Yaoyorozu who was slightly facing away

"Y-yes, I guess it does." She said while she turned to face him with a smile, but still blushing from what just happened

The sun had set, the park had almost no one else left but them, and then they realised that it was time to head back to U.A.

As they were walking back, they were holding hands while making conversations to pass the time as they were nearing the campus.

When they got back to the dorms there was no one to be found. Pretty understandable since they came home at such a late time.

Todoroki brought Yaoyorozu back to her room and just as she was about to enter, he stopped her.

"Before I forget... This is for you." He said as he pulled out of his bag the animal pillow that Yaoyorozu was struggling to get at the arcade.

"B-but how?" Yaoyorozu said in a surprised tone

"Let's just say that I had a lot of experience with claw machines thanks to Midoriya and the others bringing me out to different arcades." He replied with a smirk which earned a chuckle from Yaoyorozu

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Todoroki added feeling a bit lonely with having to go back to his own room until the unexpected happened.

"W-wait Todoroki-kun!" Said Yaoyorozu out of the blue

"W-w-would you like to stay in my room for the night?" Said Yaoyorozu blushing as red as a tomato.
