Y/n's POV
It was our match against Dateko and the team was sweating bullets because of the looks on the opposite team. The boys were fired up, but seeing the permanent and unmovable glare from Dateko's number 7, they couldn't help but have a bad feeling.
Seeing their nervousness, I could only encourage them with smiles and words that will boost their motivation.
"Do your best and enjoy every single moment of it when you beat them, alright?" I smirked with my arms crossed over my chest.
And that one sentence made them pumped up. The most pumped up one was Tanaka, who was twirling his shirt in the air as he yelled.
Daichi bonked his head, screaming that he should wear his shirt back on. "Tanaka, for god's sake! Put your goddamn shirt back on!! People was giving us looks!!" he scolded the buzz cut dude.
Not gonna lie, the scene was really funny.
The two teams lined up on the end-line to greet their opponents. When the whistle blew, both teams bowed to each other, saying the thing that they wanted the most.
"Let's have a good game!!"
The coaches and managers from the benches bowed, showing respect to each other. I saw Kazaki's eyes dagger to the back of my head, making me roll my eyes at her.
"N/n-chan! Up here!" I heard someone call my name from above.
I tilted my head upwards and saw the flamboyant brunette waving at me, trying to catch my attention. I smiled softly at him and waved.
The boy stopped suddenly and dramatically clasped his heart in his hands and fell backwards, as if he was shot by an arrow. Iwaizumi, who was next to him, smacked the back of his head, sending him back towards.
"Iwa-chan! What was that for?!" Oikawa complained.
The ace glared at him, "You're distracting Y/n and the others. Can't you see that they're trying to focus, Shittykawa?!!" he scolded violently, threatening a fist.
I stifled up a laughter in my mouth and looked away, returning my gaze to the match in front of me.
The match started with Hinata serving. I remembered the time where me and Hinata worked on his serves.
"You need to count your steps before serving, Hinata. Make sure to keep the ball high before giving the ball more power." I instructed while I held the ball in my hand.
I tossed it upwards and used my right arm and swung it when the ball and my hand was touching. I served the ball with an average strength and let it go over the nets.
Hinata's eyes widened in admiration. "That was such a clean serve!" he gawked.
I handed him a volleyball and ruffled his orange hair. "You can do that too, y'know." I said.
The smaller boy blushed and took the ball in his hands, nodding determinedly in himself. He took his position and breathed in and out heavily.
The tangerine tossed the ball in the air and used his right hand to serve it over the net, which was a fail.
Hinata slumped down but quickly got back up and grabbed another ball. He took a deep breath and tried again and again and again.
The boy never gave up until he did a successful serve.
"Hinata." I called him.
The boy turned his head towards me, the determination never leaving his eyes. "I'm sure I can do it this time! Watch me, Tachi-san!" he said and served the ball.
