Kirstie POV
When I wake up, my fingers fish across the sheets to find Avi. He's not anywhere in the house. I see a note scribbled with his handwriting:
Kirstie-
Don't want bad luck, do we? See you tonight. Honeymoon in a few days. Love you
Avi
Esther swings open the door, and pulls me to the place where I will be getting married. I check out the chapel we will be getting married in. It's buttresses swing high, and peak up. Stained glass cast purple, blue, red, orange, yellow, and green lights on the wooden floor. The platform has a flower archway. A grand piano is on the far right. I smile. This venue is perfect. We walk to the reception hall, and it's perfect. Gold and white balloons with glittery streamers hang from the ceiling.. The tables have thin mint linens lining the white tables. Up front is a table for the wedding party had a gold fabric lining the center of the table. The dance floor has been set up, and I know I want to dance. An open bar is tucked away in the corner. Even if it is slightly hidden, there is no doubt that Scott and Mitch will find it. We go back to the church, and go to a back room to get ready. My bridesmaids with Sarah and my mom sit, smiling. Audrey automatically pulls me into a chair, and works on my makeup. Esther grabs a wand of some sort and gets to work on my hair. My mother talks to me about the jitters of her wedding. Esther talks about Kevin. Sarah talks about new prosthetics so she and my mom can walk me down the isle. They reach for my dress, and I step in. They zip it up, and button the top of the key hole. I step into the nude pumps. Esther pulls out her phone to video tape my reaction. I turn around, and my jaw drops. My eyes have a light amount of black eyeliner on the top, with grey and white eyeshadow. My lashes are pumped out. My cheekbones somehow look perky-er, and my lips have nude lipstick. My hair is in a simple braided bun. My dress hugs my curves in all the right places. Everyone has gotten ready, and it's almost time. Everyone else walks down the isle, and it's my turn. I take a deep breath, and the doors open. Avi smiles at me, and his jaw drops. He places two hands over his mouth, and a tear slips down his cheek. He's smiling like a mad man. Sarah smiles at me, and my mother shakes my arm. I reach the platform, and my mother playfully scolds him. Scott plays a simple tune on the piano, Kevin playing the cello, and Mitch singing.
"You are so breath taking," Avi whispers to me.
"I love you," I say, a tear slipping down my cheek. Avi kisses my cheeks.
"And now for the vows," the officiant says.
"Kirstie, when we first met, I knew we would be best friends. When we started dating, I was in perfect bliss. We put each other off, and I felt horrible. When we got engaged, I couldn't be happier. I guess I could, right now. Now I promise my entire self. I promise to always stand by your side, to protect you, and support you. I will never ever leave your side. I love you with every fiber of my being. I think about you from when I wake up to when I go to bed. I love you more than words could explain. There is nothing wrong with you. I love you."
I have tears flowing from my eyes. "Avi, you are my best friend. I feel like I'm on cloud nine whenever you are around me. I love everything about you. From your special dance moves to your cooking, there's nothing wrong. I want to grow old with you. I want kids and a life with you. I love you more than anything I've ever loved in my entire life. I want to always be with you. From here on forth, I promise to stand you. I promise to stand behind you, and support you. I promise to keep your head in the clouds with your feet on the ground. If you go down in flames, I'll go crashing with you. That's a promise. I love you," I'm full on bawling now. Avi kisses my cheek. The priest had us exchange the rings. I slip Avi's on his finger, and he slips mine on. I smile at him.
"You may now kiss the bride." Avi grabs a hold on my waist and pulls me close to him. My lips brush his, and then he kisses me. It's a brand new experience. It makes me want to jump. It's full of commitment and joy. Of lust and desire. Full of each other mingling. He holds my hand in his, and holds it over our heads. The crowd cheers. Avi and I walk down the isle, waving and cheering. We hop into the limo, and they take us in a circle. We then take a few pictures, then hop back in. The limo takes us to our house, where we put the bags we'll be taking on the honeymoon with us in the trunk. We then drive off to the reception. Avi relentlessly flirts, and I laugh. Man, am I lucky? We reach the reception, and are greeted with a shower of bubbles. We thank a bunch of people, then go onto the stage to eat. The food is delicious. Kevin makes a best man speech, and so does Esther. We then go for the first dance. It's 'Just the Way You Look' by Frank Sinatra. Avi sings to me the entire time, and I just look down, blushing. We do a couples dance, and go to cut the cake. Avi spoons a mouthful of the delicious stuff in my mouth, whereas I get it all in his beard. I take a napkin and wipe it off. He takes this opportunity to catch my lips on his. We then go do the dollar dance. After a night of fun, we go check into the hotel we stay at tonight.
