Setting The Example

Sir Nighteye's Pov;

Ema's been coming around far more often than usual, and she seems to have a young man in tow. Him and Midoriya seem very close to them as well. I was feeling a bit down after Ema berated me over what she overheard what had I said to Midoriya.

Flashback

"How could you say something like that? You of all people who's best friend was quirkless for all respects and purposes! I think my mom was wrong about you, your missing the forest for the trees! Think about it this way you are disrespecting All Might's choice! He chose him for a reason! Just because you don't agree with that reason doesn't mean you get to say things like that!"
"That was a private conversation Ema you shouldn't have been eavesdropping! Plus he needed to know how I feel and felt!"
"No he didn't you just wanted him to know what you think! That he isn't good enough to be a hero! Well am I good enough in your book? Was my mom because she had the similar gift as mine I just took my Dad's genes and added his quirk to my gift! Would you say that to Midoriya if he was All Might's son, and inherited his quirk from his father! No you wouldn't because that's the normal way quirks work. I'm so mad at you right now I'm going home! When you've thought about how much you've hurt me, by judging someone before knowing them, maybe then I'll forgive you!"

It took weeks for me to apologise! I finally understood what she said. I was doing my best to make a child feel like they were worthless, and didn't deserve to have something! Something they wanted more than anything else! She wouldn't even talk to me it was breaking my heart! After her birthday and how close we had gotten, it felt like Rena was here making me laugh again, and showing me the world wasn't so bad. Then this happened and for the first time in my life I saw what she saw. Understood why what I said to Midoriya hurt her so much and what made me realize it. I was sitting in a park watching children play when one child was left out. His peers saying 'you don't have a quirk so you can't play heroes with us!' Ema didn't have a quirk, Midoriya didn't have a quirk, this is what they went through! That revelation was the biggest eye opener I ever had! Society said people without quirks couldn't be heroes, so those who could just went along with it and judged them by it. I should be setting the example, instead of doing exactly what everyone else does! But let me snap out of this, thinking about my mistakes is upsetting. Shota said her and that boy are dating. It was then I saw it, he was kissing her! Not happening, "Excuse me but PDA of any kind isn't allowed in my agency!"
"I told you that we should've just hung out in the dorms Sho we could've talked to Midoriya when he got home."
"But you know your father would've made us take Eri, not that I mind! She just very curious about what dating is, and why we kiss all the time."
Ahh so that explains it! Shota was using Eri as a unknown chaperone ensuring that things didn't go to far. They were curious teens, and kissing could definitely lead to other things!
"I really don't understand why my dad doesn't trust us! We know what our limits are, we're just dating."
"I believe that the adults in our lives are afraid we might become intimate with each other! As per my opinion I think we are far to young yet!"
Wait did he really believe that, and Ema's nodding along.
"I'm far to young to think about that! I just want to kiss, and be close with him. That's enough for me, us right now!"
The adults in these childrens life, were worrying unnecessarily. They were well aware of what we thought, but weren't anywhere near that stage in their lives!
"I'll talk with your Dad Ema I'll explain, and it should be fine now."
She thanked me, and her and Endeavor's boy left. I really didn't like that she was near Endeavor, but his child seemed much more down to earth. He was actually thinking of her and being respectful of their ages. So that was what I told Shota, I said we need to give them a chance to be kids that were dating. If and when they were old enough for us to worry, then we would.
